Today marks the second hailstorm in north GA in a 8 days, as last Thursday had widespread hail reports too. No hail here inside the Perimeter but booming thunder this evening and earlier today.

Cloud structure of mesocyclone moving into Athens, GA late Saturday afternoon (3/7/26) (frequent lightning, hail, tree uprootings, power outages)
This was a very strong storm with broad rotation that also showed up on SRV. Since we are quite a ways from the radar site (in south Atlanta), what we saw on velocity radar might have been a little tighter in situ. There was no tornado but, it was giving a half-hearted try.
Glad I got this photo when I did, the whole thing got pretty rain wrapped a minute later

Expansion of slight risk for today into Atlanta
That was funny. I was just looking at radarscope and wondering why a tornado warning wasn't issued for the cell near Berry and boom it went warned.

Definitely been a fast start here but I see no signs of another threat for awhile 
OKC got very lucky tonight the track was a nightmare across the city but apparently it never touched down again once it got there
