Severe 2026 Severe Thread 🌩

Still think the highest chance of anything is west of Atlanta. Especially looking st the current trajectory of the storms coming out of Tennessee unless there is additional development. Short range models wont be much help either since they are almost always clueless with these MCS systems.

It's really clearing up downtown. But yes agree that it looks to stay west of the Metro

Ok my eyebrows are getting raised. The UKmet along with some of the hurricane models would print out a wild environment at peak heating across AL on east with the remants of the tropical system.

Probably would be our largest southern tornado threat of the year.

This was from the storm two nights ago in GA, and a radar indicated tornado near Eatonton GA.
I had to drive through that area yesterday for a job and wish I'd had time to photo.. there was a stretch of woods right near the main Oconee National Forest sign on 129 that looked like a hand of GOD reached down, grabbed dozens of mature (18"ish) pine trees then twisted and broke them off mid stalk. Trees down all over the place.

There was no clearly defined CC drop on radar but this was near the end of the reach for Peachtree ATL.

The warning was radar indicated but the damage I saw combined with the power company trucks working on restoring power to the area suggest this was the real deal.
