Because it’s a smoothed out ensemble mean ! You must be looking at OP runs around the long range because if you are that’s the mistake, especially at the surface. Ensembles have been consistently cold with highs in the 30s and low in the 20s upper 10s. That’s really cold for the SE.

Some just need to move to Madison Wisconsin because the expectations in the SE is insane lol. 20+ degree BN is like you said, anomalous. That’s like mid 70s right now if it was the other way

Most of you are very young on here, It was normal most every winter growing up to have lows of 10-15 in Atlanta...I am 62 and have seen a lot more weather than you guys
