The
increasing forecast focus will be on the potential for arctic air
spilling into the western and central CONUS mid to late next week.
Guidance expectantly varies greatly at this time range but the
potential for the cold air does warrant attention.

...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH
THURSDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Freezing rain and sleet. Significant ice accumulation
around a quarter of an inch, with up to half an inch possible
along the ridges. Total sleet accumulations around one inch
possible.




* WHERE...Portions of northwest Virginia and panhandle West
Virginia.

* WHEN...Wintry precipitation begins as early as Wednesday
evening, then becomes more intense overnight Wednesday into
Thursday morning. Warmer air should push into the valleys by
Thursday afternoon, but freezing rain likely continues on the
ridges through through Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the
ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions
will likely impact the morning and evening commutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation at
weather.gov/lwx/winter.

First WSW of the season for back home. Meh, ZR and sleet are sorta boring, but i think i moved 2 states too far south..LOL
 
18z GEFS looked great. We still don't completely suck again yet.
The operational euro was the only disaster at 12z, everything else was just kind of meh. We may not get the historic pattern the models were showing 36 hours ago but we are still in the game for something decent
