Misc 2021-22 Fall/Winter Whamby Thread

This winter stunk!!!! I even had a chance visit planned in advance that met with one of our few flakeages… models and NWS all called fir 3-5 inches of snow… possibly ice… temps in low twenties… poo! Barely got a trace!!! And never got below 27 the entire trip!!!! Big bust all around!!! Temps, precip, never such a disappointment in all my life!!!!!

All I know is I am about done. You hope for a few flakes all winter and it is about impossible to get. Then a severe threat pops up a week out and no doubt it will happen. I hate severe season. Sitting in your house hoping you don't die. If only I could move.
I can’t stand it either. We have already had way to much severe over the winter so I hope it’s a quiet spring. Sorry severe peeps but I hope you have to chase in Oklahoma.

At least there's one thing to look forward to with this new pattern, not missing out on any snowstorms that turn into duds. We've had dud after dud with only 1 light snow here all winter, and with the constant systems falling apart as verification happens, it's nice to not be on the edge of your seat for weeks expecting something only for it to never come. I doubt March will bring much of anything as it'll likely be too late and it just seems like we get 1 snow then done on average here so I'll take my inch I got and call it a season unless something unexpected happens late feb.

I'm hanging it up for the winter. It's over! 6.6 is will be my total. Could be better but not bad.
If we assume no more snow, 2021-2 at 6.5" is the 36th snowiest at GSP since 1901-1902 or near the 70th percentile. It nicely beat the average of 4.8" and is the snowiest since the 7.2" of 2013-4. Any more snow before the end of the season would be pure bonus.

Yep not bad at all. Hoping a double digit year will happen again one day though. Notice I said we're done for the winter, which is over at the end of this month from a meteorological standpoint ?
As far as seasonal snow totals go we may indeed not be done since March can bring surprises.

Just to clarify, all of the numbers I was referring to are for all months, not just DJF.
