It has been that long since the last ice storm? I feel like they have been more common then that. I thought we had something in February 2015 but I could be wrong.

That was the last true ice storm I can remember. We’ve had a few storm with ice and sleet and snow but not a true ice storm since I think. We are waaayy overdue.

What ice event in Atlanta is your above post referring to ? This map shows no ice in Atlanta.

I think it’s that one. It didn’t hit downtown, but I guess the suburbs are enough to call it Atlanta. Lol
If I remember correctly that was an overachiever too. We didn’t even expect to be below freezing during it and then we had enough ice to take the power out for 12 hours. Classic overachieving CAD.

It looks like the major ice from this particular ice storm was limited to the far NE metro in Forsyth and N Gwinnett.
With a La Niña this year it makes you wonder...

We have a good shot. Just need everything to line up just right. You won’t miss it out there in Oklahoma. I feel like they get ice storms every year.
