I don't believe in that superstition. I think if we're going to get a storm, there does need to be ensembles support. We didn't have model support last December when all the models were "close." We eventually lost it later on during the King Kong storm too. I also don't believe in the inevitable NW trend. I've been burned so many times to know you shouldn't look too deeply at the models. Look at things face-value and you will be better off.

Another setup that’s gonna be 33 and rain for most of the NC Piedmont, never fails, it’ll trend colder to 33 degrees and barely any ice, gonna be slipping on that cold rain !

I would love to see a map in the US of amount of hours at 33 and rain. I’m sure the Charlotte area would have the most

Yesterday we had stratus rain with lower cumulous with embedded heavier rain. I dont see that often.
