I've been thinking of downgrading mine just because of March alone.I hope you will upgrade your grade for this winter if you end up getting a big snow.
But March hasn't been a torch. It's been mostly cool right ?I've been thinking of downgrading mine just because of March alone.
Well, the further south you go the more marginal temps usually are. With temps already marginal to begin with, it doesn't take much global warming for snow totals to go way down.Ran across this on Twitter. I am surprised the annual snowfall average had dropped this much across central/western NC. Not sure what caused this.

Not so much that, just that if NC was going to get a second surprise snow alone and everyone else gets shafted with nothing then I would, but that doesn't look to be the case anymore. Looks like I won't have more snow than DC unfortunately. Now if it snows on Wednesday, I may bump my winter to an A+, but only if I see good flake action. It's possible and the Euro and some SR models support it.But March hasn't been a torch. It's been mostly cool right ?
Well, it snowed in North GA in April 2007 so don't give up hope yet.Not so much that, just that if NC was going to get a second surprise snow alone and everyone else gets shafted with nothing then I would, but that doesn't look to be the case anymore. I was in Gatlinburg when that happened I believe. I heard about it but didn't see it for myself. Had half an inch up there. We also had a dusting on March 3 in 2016 from a freak snow line that came through that was rate driven.Well, it snowed in North GA in April 2007 so don't give up hope yet.
I drove all the way to TN to see snow in April 2007. There was several inches in the Cumberland Plateau region.I was in Gatlinburg when that happened I believe. Much better than dealing with tornadoes right now.I'm officially under a watch![]()

I'd be pretty pumped if I was in your area. It does look like I will see more snow tomorrow afternoon and evening but I don't think I'll get 2 inches again like last Monday. Either way if I even get a little snow tomorrow it will only add to this epic march simply due to how late in the season this snow has been falling.Woohoo. A Winter Weather Advisory was just issued. 1-3" expected.
Forecast calls for 1-3" but there is potential for up to 6" I think. But it's March so it's always best to be cautious.I'd be pretty pumped if I was in your area. I bet you end up on the higher end of 3 plus. Models have been really favorable to your area for days. I've really grown to love the Nam simply because it's been so spot on for my area this season. If it verifies tomorrow I should pick up at least an inch while you get dumped on.Forecast calls for 1-3" but there is potential for up to 6" I think. We've been nickle and dimed to death here. So many one and two inchers. I would be thrilled with a 3-6" event.I bet you end up on the higher end of 3 plus. I woulda been thrilled with a .10" event ... but getting the bad T-Storms now (Boo) ...We've been nickle and dimed to death here. So many one and two inchers. I would be thrilled with a 3-6" event.
I'll take snow any day over severe storms. But that's just me. I do love a good summer thunderstorm though.I woulda been thrilled with a .10" event ... but getting the bad T-Storms now (Boo) ...![]()
Stay safe Phil. This ain't a good old summertime T-Storm; woke up this AM to find a big piece of a pine tree from 2 houses down and across the street in my front yard (spinner?) along with a ton of debris - that limb sucker is 9 feet long and at least 4" in diameter; wind died at 10:30 and my 4 lane road to work was closed for tree-buckets ... spinner? No official report but it's been and is a mess ...
Thanks, Man!Stay safe Phil.
Another reason I wish this winter would just end already. I want their season to end in failure.Latest NAM = MA forum :weenie: suicides! Gives NYC 18” of snow, DCA gets 2” at best!!![]()
Are you living up there permanently now?? I haven’t been on here recently so am not up to date with what’s happening with people.34 degrees and sleeting !
Not permanently. I wont be here too much longer. I know i have been saying that a while but its true. This area has some nice people but its sort of depressing in a way. There are some nice areas but also a lot of areas that are very run down. The roads are in TERRIBLE shape. Are you living up there permanently now??
