Misc 2018 Banter & Venting Thread

I'm not sure how thermal wind & ageostrophic pressure gradient accelerations turned into an appeal to authority encompassing "I have more degrees than you so it doesn't matter what you say I'm automatically smarter than you" in one post. Is it really that hard to have a civilized conversation with anyone anymore? I was expecting a nice response that tackled what may have been my misinterpretation of these principles so that not only myself but everyone else could learn something instead I get that kind of condescending response...

Good riddance. If you have a job and you're so high & mighty then what are you doing here shouldn't you be getting back to work instead of arguing with weenies and undergrads?

Lol the double standard here is pretty hilarious. I love how his post still stands to clog up the March blog while mine posted in a rightful place like this banter forum gets deleted. I'm pretty sure this is what a banter thread is for is it not? In any case, I've had enough of this crap, I'm out.

So the train rolls on... Ever hear of a think called stopping the discussion? It's a pretty simple concept and resolves issues 100% of the time. The moment we all just stop talking about it and get on with talking about the weather, the better. It's better than anyone saying one person is always in the wrong and that every thread must be cleansed to satisfaction, which is absurd. Simply just don't go on about the subject any longer or get your hands dirty in any others and the issues will go away.

Last time I checked I didn't go about waving how many undergraduate research projects I've done, how many college classes I've attended, how many internships I've received how many papers I've read, how many conferences I've been to or how many winter storms I've reanalyzed to weenies or enthusiasts in the face when that had absolutely nothing to do w/ the argument at hand. Not cleansing obvious garbage in a legitimate section of the forum insinuates favoritism and a click-like mentality particularly when said individual has had a history not just with myself but others in repeatedly resorting to childish rhetorical nonsense because their ego is so damn large that they can't be reasoned with. There's enough condescending, arrogant mets like 1300m on Americanwx, having to deal with them here too is no bueno

My basic point was to stop talking about the issue. The post you are referencing was deleted. Just drop it.
 
Holy hell my 4 year old starts tee ball this week. They practice twice a week for 4 weeks and have games every Saturday during the PRE SEASON. They are four!!! Two practices a week ???

Got to start early and often if he wants to make mommy and daddy a lot of money playing in the pros one day. Nice diversion.

Yeah, I’ve got a boy who’s played since 4, it’s awesome, as baseball is my favorite sport! Trying to get him into football, as he turned 11 on February 20th, and is 5’8” tall and about 140, and had to get men’s size 12 cleats for baseball!:eek:

I guess we'll see but like I said it seems to take mid 20s for damage with most things. Heck, my dad does nothing with protecting plants and while his blueberries were toast last year, everything else was damaged but ok.

Edit: It's already been dipping down to the upper 20s, so the air might make a brief run toward that threshold soon, which will be interesting.
