There's something to look forward to. A big snowstorm that gives you a foot of snow that lasts for a week. Either that or you'll be screwed by a gradient that is 1 mile from your house and you'll get 1 inch while 2 miles away gets 12.This is our claim to fame. Luck is on our side! This winter is going to rock now!
This was my plan, I'm sure I'll never put it into action but I would definitely call out sick.... and for me it's not even about the confidentiality, as you know, in NC we don't have that anyway. But for me it's more about, my luck something would happen, lose the ticket, have an accident, something and then I'd be screwed lolThey actually say not to quit and to call out sick. Brings too much attention to your identity too soon....

If this winter turns into a poop fire I think I will lose faith in all humanity.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all, just feel like most people believe this winter is going to be cold and wet and the snow potentially is very high. Just hope it doesn’t turn into a dud. I hate getting excited for failure. Hoping for some good legit chances this winter. Why? Why would it even be surprising if it is, especially in a warming world and realizing poop fire winters in the SE are not that unusual.
After last winter, odds are this winter will suck. Back to back great winters are a lot to ask for in the deep south. If this winter turns into a poop fire I think I will lose faith in all humanity.
Last winter sucked balls. This one can only be better! After last winter, odds are this winter will suck. Back to back great winters are a lot to ask for in the deep south.

Some areas north and west of Atl had 12-15" last winter ! So even 2-4" of snow this winter would be a bit of a letdown.at least yall had a lot of snow last year, didn't do much of anything here lol 3 years running now

Honestly GA has been spoiled the last decade. I think GA is due for some sucky winters unfortunately08/09-10/11 and 13/14-14/15 were not that far long ago.
I should note that I'm going by it only takes one storm. I almost left off 08/09 then thought of March 2009.

Gas station 2 miles from my house sold a 1.6billion dollar lottery ticket last night. Literally anything is possible. We have toWhy? Why would it even be surprising if it is, especially in a warming world and realizing poop fire winters in the SE are not that unusual.
You are so due. I think you will score big this winter. I predict 6" of snow and a major icestormif this winter doesn't produce in Dallas I'm going to get convinced it doesn't snow here anymore![]()

Do you really want a roof crusher?Gas station 2 miles from my house sold a 1.6billion dollar lottery ticket last night. Literally anything is possible. We have to
hold on hope for a February 1973 redux. Literally anything is possible if everything comes together right. We are overdue for a roof crusher around here
I could never live on east side of Atlanta. They almost always get less snow than the north and west sides. Actually I would hate to live anywhere south of 85 in GA.I had 1.5 and it melted in 3 hrs.
Winter of 2011-12 and 2012-2013. Those were horrible. Not to mention the warm rainy Decembers we had several years back. I actually think we are about even here.Honestly GA has been spoiled the last decade. I think GA is due for some sucky winters unfortunately
We get a good snow once every 4-5 years. Bright side is our severe weather is less then north and west Atlanta.I could never live on east side of Atlanta. They almost always get less snow than the north and west sides. Actually I would hate to live anywhere south of 85 in GA.
Bottom line is that weather south and east of 85 is far less interesting then north and west. Some would even see less severe as being a negative. We get a good snow once every 4-5 years. Bright side is our severe weather is less then north and west Atlanta.

When you love something, enough is never enough and more is ALWAYS better! Why do folks like you always worry about others getting more snow even if you get snow? Can’t you just enjoy what you get if you get it? This kind of talk detracts from the enjoyment.
The problem is often areas south of 85 get nothing and can go 5+ years without getting anything. Why do folks like you always worry about others getting more snow even if you get snow? Can’t you just enjoy what you get if you get it? This kind of talk detracts from the enjoyment. If you get 2”, why not enjoy it as much if someone to your NW got 5” vs if that same person got 1”? It is the same 2” either way.

To be fair, it’s hard to describe that feeling when a winter storm rolls through and you’re sitting there looking at a blue radar returns 5 miles to your north while you inevitably will sit under green returns for the next couple hours if not the duration of the storm. I can assure you it’s quite painful growing up as a kid when your cousins a few miles away get to enjoy a good snow day and you have puddles of rain outsideWhich means that kind of person will almost never be happy. What a miserable way to live.
Happened twice to me last winter. It was horrible but I felt even worse for my 2 little girls, they kept looking out the window all night. I felt so bad.To be fair, it’s hard to describe that feeling when a winter storm rolls through and you’re sitting there looking at a blue radar returns 5 miles to your north while you inevitably will sit under green returns for the next couple hours if not the duration of the storm. That's crazy. Imagine if that was snow!View attachment 7081 This was Christmas 2015.
Unless you're going all out and making a massive display, which in that case you are likely too late for, yes. Usually I wait until Thanksgiving week. If you are the only one in the entire area doing it that early then definitely not.Is November 1st too early to start decorating for Christmas?

Earliest snow for me in South Bend was October 5th ... on my 19th birthday! It seems like, for whatever reason, areas further west like Texas have a better chance for snow earlier in the season than the southeast does. I remember watching a Dallas Cowboys football game in the 90s where there was snow or ice on Thanksgiving Day! You never see that kind of weather in Atlanta in November. As far as here in the midwest, I've never been here in the fall so i'm not sure if it ever snows here in November or not.

Damn ...My birthday is October 4th !
Atlanta winter starts in January and last to early March so I never expected snow or ice until Jan1. February seems to be the most active around here. Just waiting for my turn to come, hopefully this year.It seems like, for whatever reason, areas further west like Texas have a better chance for snow earlier in the season than the southeast does.
