Chance for a little more snow that favors the I-40 corridor into southern VA. Y’all post some map. I’m tired.
Exactly. And Triangle folks need a win after the last one. Of course, this one probably won't be a win, either, but...We've chased a lot worse lol.
Can’t waitLooks like a legit colder trend with more precipitation View attachment 193410View attachment 193411View attachment 193412View attachment 193413View attachment 193414
Wait, what??!!
I know it's a longshot but this would be a chance for RDU to make up some for missing out on what was a storm of a lifetime for some folks this past weekend. Bring it on!Looks like a legit colder trend with more precipitation View attachment 193410View attachment 193411View attachment 193412View attachment 193413View attachment 193414
A slush storm would not make up for what was lost. I personally hope we don't get this - I don't want any of our atmospheric interest wasted on this garbage. Let VA have it (that's where it's going anyway).I know it's a longshot but this would be a chance for RDU to make up some for missing out on what was a storm of a lifetime for some folks this past weekend. Would not at all be shocked if this ends up being a S VA event. It just wants to snow there this winter.View attachment 193419Big increase on the Canadian ensembles too. Favors the border counties.
Bruh, we live in the South. You don't turn down opportunities for snow. If it's a 1-3" slushstorm, then so be it. It won't make up for what was lost, but it's better than nothing.A slush storm would not make up for what was lost. Look man I'm not gonna disagree with you. I haven't complained once this winter which is rare. Somehow at 17.9 for the winter we are still below average in Blacksburg. We have not hit our average in several years but this still feels like its been awesome for us.Would not at all be shocked if this ends up being a S VA event. It just wants to snow there this winter.
Climo says this is a I40 north storm. 1-3", maybe pockets of isolated 4"
I sometimes forget how much snow you all average up there (and much more than Roanoke), haha. It's like a whole different world!Look man I'm not gonna disagree with you. Any idea how this has been trending on that model? If WeatherNext is on board, it has my attention (not that it didn't already).Well, could be a little something

2200 feet of elevation changes everythingI sometimes forget how much snow you all average up there (and much more than Roanoke), haha. It's like a whole different world!
So many times while working for WSLS that it would be snowing in The Burgs (or up on Mountain Lake) but nothing in Roanoke when I got home2200 feet of elevation changes everything
If the trends stay good could be at least an advisory event 100 miles either side of the border. The NWS in Raleigh hasn't bought in to this potential winter weather event yet. They mentioned, as they did in previous discussions, that this would be a cold chasing moisture situation which usually doesn't work out well for snow accumulation.
I've seen these things work out before, but it'll be difficult. If we can get the changeover, we'll also need the surface temp to drop quickly to allow accumulations. We have nothing to lose.I’m trying to be optimistic. Will fully admit I’m not a fan of the cold chasing setups since it seems like the good stuff dries out more often than not around here. But who cares? Let’s see what this puppy can do.![]()
