Not sure if we get severe weather but the first few showers off the ocean have been very tropical like in nature with big fat raindrops and efficient rainmakers

Decided to postpone the trip to VA today with the uncertainty about how bad the storms, rain and wind will be. Saw the SPC increased the threat to a level 2 for some areas.

Just a lot of rain here so far. No wind, no storms.
This thing is teetering on trying to wrap as it moves into wake county and eventually SE raleigh/garner

South central Wake County in central North Carolina...
Northwestern Johnston County in central North Carolina...
* Until 1245 PM EST.
* At 1214 PM EST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
tornado was located near Fuquay-Varina, or 10 miles south of Cary,
moving east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Tornado.
SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.
* This dangerous storm will be near...
Raleigh and Garner around 1220 PM EST.
Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Lake
Benson, Lake Wheeler, and Holly Springs.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a

That warning is very close to home for me. There have been no reports of a touchdown yet but the radar couplet is showing organization. The rain at my residence is very heavy and the wind has picked up. I will be watching this storm closely.
