Misc This Means WAR

Stock futures rise as Trump signals progress in U.S.-Iran war talks: Live updates

Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 357 points, or 0.8%. S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq 100 futures were up 0.8% each.

"The United States of America is in serious discussions with A NEW, AND MORE REASONABLE, REGIME to end our Military Operations in Iran," Trump said in a post on Truth Social on Monday.

Trump is so desperate he will say anything at this point. Just who are these New and Reasonable Iranians? Most likely the same type that murdered thousands of protestors.

Possibly, but we are seeing a constant cycle: Negotiation, balking, another round of higher Iranian officials dead, negotiation, balking, the next rung of higher Iranian officials dead.

While it does not fully get rid of the regime, it may end up the next best thing where the next leaders are much more willing to placate to the west.

Unless the American public wants to go full invasion, considering how little pushback the Iranian public is doing, this is probably best case.

If Trump is correct about negotiations, then we can probably assume Iranian leadership is fractured.
Im sure they are fractured but i seriously doubt any of them are moderates who only wanted to kill 10,000 protestors. There is too much pressure on Trump now. We are fighting based on the stock market and oil price. This is all going to be for nothing.

A LOT of people have been fooled by Israel and I have to include myself in that group "to an extent" as my POV just a year ago was still one of a soldier supporting a MILITARY ALLY. Look at how many people are questioning Israel NOW. That isn't by accident. I'm sure to get negative feedback from this and that's ok but I think Trump is exposing them and has known about this threat for sometime. The only clear and decisive way to take the corruption down is to expose it and make people aware so they will begin to question. It's about to get interesting in that area of the world
I think part of it is that the Jewish people endured a horrific abuse of humanity. What they went through is beyond words.

I think the world has over corrected and now it igores the abuses that Isreal is now committing.

The pendulum has swung to where now we say nothing when doctors without borders reports women and children with single gunshot wounds described as sniper fire. It barely makes the news when they shoot up firetruck and ambulances and bury them in the sand and wait days and days to report it then get caught lying about the circumstances.

We should be allowed to recognize the old atrocities by the Germans and the new atrocities by the Isrealis. Instead any negative mention of isreal is met with immediate attacks against those criticizing them.

It's only for nothing for those of us not in position to insider trade. It's worth hundreds of millions to those making these polynsrket bets and stock exchanges minutes before major announcements.

Rick Steves did a wonderful travel program on Iran, interviewing people on the streets, and they seem to be a great people under the heel of religious zealot crazies. Why punish them for the nazi's that have them terrorized. Typical of US management to leap before looking. It's easy to attack, but hard to pull back, so when in doubt, and the going gets rough, slap down the weakest, and least enfranchised. Once again a meddling US reaps what it sows. It's Hatfield/McCoy syndrome, and once started does not stop easily. Hate builds on hate, atrocity on atrocity. Any leadership that rules by fear, is not who you want to put your clout behind. Payback for the shah is a mofo.

We aren't punishing them (The people) we are giving them an opportunity to take back what was a beautiful, thriving country at one time. This country AND REGION has no chance whatsoever if we don't do this and neither did the people of Venezuela. The world is on fire and someone was going to have to take it on the chin. The Cabal can not continue to control this planet.......

Is it really that insane? Regardless of how you feel about Trump, do we think the Iranians have been on the up and up? I think the violent crackdown on the protesters is enough evidence that they have not exactly been truthful.

Look at that lady's Twitter feed. If Trump exhales she would gripe because he is causing global warming. No doubt she wore a mask in a car whe she was by herself.

Both her and the “independent” reporter both have a page full of anti-Trump /anti-maga content. It goes both ways when reporting about this war and politics in general. We always get slanted information.

This is a bit unfair given Israel participating on our side in any of our prior Middle East wars would've risked fractioning whatever coalition we were in with Arab countries. For example, Saddam shot countless Scuds at Israeli civilian targets in the Gulf War with the explicit goal of trying to elicit an Israeli military response, which Saddam hoped would fracture the US-led Coalition that would later liberate Kuwait - Syrian, Saudi Arabian, Egyptian, etc. forces participated in the Coalition and Saddam believed (possibly correctly so) that if Israel entered the war on the side of this Coalition (even if that was just trying to bomb Scud sites), the Arab forces would back out, leaving the Coalition in peril (especially given they were attacking from Saudi Arabia). Fortunately, US diplomats managed to keep Israel from responding militarily (and indeed the Scud attacks weren't particularly effective - if they were more effective, it might've been politically impossible for Israel to not respond), and the US military actively tried to hunt Scud sites during Desert Shield.

So the main accomplishment of the war was to turn this into an Iranian lake. He cant really be conceding total control to Iran, right? Whoever is negotiating for Iran is a genius. There isnt going to be a "later phase" for 2 reasons. When dems take control of congress in Nov they will stop funding the war and we cant just keep all the military assets there forever. I want the guy negotiating for Iran to defect and be our Sec of State.

Alright, ya'll are throwing me off with the lakes talk.

They got desalinization plants over there for a reason. Very expensive way to get usable water. (that's why we don't have them, or at least very very few) Most of Iran is crazy arid, at least by our standards.

If they are begging for a deal then hand them the terms, tell them the bombing stops when the terms are fully implemented, and then the war ends. There is no need for negotiations

He declares victory and walks away from the mess that was made. No net benefit to the American people

Him declaring victory makes sense, especially since there’s not strong support for the war continuing and the stock markets should like it as they did today. However, if one reason for the war was to divert away from the Epstein issue as some believe , would it make sense for him to walk away this soon? Maybe the Epstein issue has nothing to do with it after all?

I think it played a role to some degree. It certainly worked as the evidence was starting to build that this is a much bigger story than we ever thought. Zorro ranch was being searched fbi interviews being unredacted. It's still a major issue for many and they hopefully won't forget to push forward for more answers
