Misc This Means WAR

More aware of him than I care to be, which is one of many reasons why I'm trying to make some changes from a personal standpoint.

But while it would be nice if the Gabbard types got purged, I do view this as more interesting from an electorate standpoint than admin standpoint, which will only get tested a little in November.

He's a libertarian like Rand Paul. He's not a die hard conservative. Far from what a definition of Far Right is. Guy is mega anti-war and its for good personal reasons/ lost his wife in combat.

GG/NC,
Thanks for your replies.
I’m admittedly just learning about Joe Kent. After reading some more, I do feel Kent being described as far right, which I had read elsewhere earlier, isn’t off base. Also, I’ve read about some controversial associations and comments he’s made. After reading these things and despite understanding his objection to the extensive involvement of the U.S. in the Iran War, I’ll just say I’m glad he resigned.

@JQPublic

My Iranian American friend just told me Iranians and the Iranian diaspora aren’t celebrating the spring equinox Persian New Year because of the Jan. massacre in Iran. It’s normally a major celebration.

This whole situation could be one of many things, but us in the public have no way of truly knowing unless we have ties to intelligence.

- Trump convinced by bad intel from Israel or our own similar to Bush in 2001
- MIC influencing the intel agencies monetarily
- Trump only president with balls big enough to attack Iran directly since 1979 because they actually are funding terrorist organizations.

We obviously installed Hussein in Iraq to fight the Iranians, then took him out later on.

All I know is the Persians I know locally fled that regime and want it gone.

Let's keep the political portion/things not associated with current events of the war out. It'll get locked fast otherwise like the last war thread.
So we can’t discuss the politics and political figures and their decisions and the countries influences that they say are driving the war? This thread has them scattered throughout

More the out of control pointless off topic "well maga this" or "I don't like thus guy period" posts. Should be kept neutral enough that it doesn't cause one-liners to keep going further from the actual topic

I don't think ForsthySnow said that. I think most of us regardless of our political leanings enjoy seeing info and different views on this topic. I think we also realize how passionate some are and how quickly it can snowball into personal attacks which will cause this thread to get zapped.

I agree. I'm not a moderator and haven't posted here often but the more this thread goes into the weeds into political opinions, the more likely it is to be banned.

Well I'm not surprised with how things are going with Iran. That's why you don't surround yourself with yes people. You surround yourself with people that will tell you the truth whether you want to hear it or not. Anybody with common sense knows that Iran is going to use the Strait of Hormuz as leverage. Immediately thought about it the second we started striking Iran. I get both sides of the arguments. But we should have known better this is just going to drag us into an endless war. Iran doesn't want peace they will drag this out and force our hand. Next boots will be on the ground.

And even if we get the Strait under our control. It's up to the insurance companies whether or not they will reinstate policies on those ships. There's a lot at play that the government is not telling us about nor the media. Energy prices will continue to rise and it will take months if not a year to get back to where we were. This is a long-term deal and the American taxpayers going to be footing the bill.
