Misc General Banter Thread

This make me think about your avatar YetAnotherRDUGuy. That's the way the roads look around RDU these days with the uncontrolled population growth in Wake County and lack of infrastructure to support it.
#1 in the nation among large cities. Not a great honor is it?

In Raleigh's (slight) defense, I have driven all across this state from the mountains to the coast. Towns and larger cities. Long curvy country roads and beltways (or "beltlines" here locally). Met a lot of nice people and seen a lot of interesting places. And yet in every single one of them, the majority are terrible drivers. Regardless of income, age, gender, race, or education level.

The infrastructure not keeping up with the amount of building and people here now is a real problem. When you have more people on crowded roads you're going to have more accidents.

Just arrived in Corydon, IN. Hotelling it tonight and finish the 3 1/2 hours in the AM.
Heading to rural St Louis to visit with my massive family. Sooo excited. My late father and 87 yr old mom are responsible for 57 of us. 😳
Back next Tuesday.

I skimmed the article, possible gap in 2032 and a small reduction in future satellites, was that basically the change thats going to set things back "decades"?

The part that is worrisome to me is that the GAO (Government Accountability Office) found gaps in contingency planning. Even if the government saves money by reducing the program, it still needs a plan to maintain observations when existing satellites fail or age out.

Has anyone on this flight flown a plane before?

I can’t for the life of me understand why people give up on winter when December is progged above normal. I think I can count on three fingers the times it’s produced. February wins more times than not in my memory!
