Pattern Sweatember

3 months without widespread rain...

They also haven't had a day below 90 yet

This is the same band the models are hinting at up here 3 (5).png

It feels like an outbreak day in May. Looks like it might be an all nighter into the morning at this rate Screenshot_20260930-155007.RadarScope.png

I ended up getting only ~2.55ā€ of rainfall in Sept, which is well below the longterm average of >4.5ā€. The upcoming progged significant rainfall in early Oct here would be most welcomed.

I can already tell you without looking this is the hottest September on record here and it's not even close

Hotter than almost every June has been even

The above normal pattern has continued

Brent deserves every single person’s sympathy for what he had to experience in September:

Tulsa, OK, was 84.3 F in Sep ā€˜26, which was in addition to being 10.1 warmer than the longterm Sep mean:

- 2.4 warmer than its 2nd warmest Sep

- 1.4 warmer than its longterm mean for July

- warmer than 69% of Julys, 74% of Augusts, and 98% of Junes on record (records back to 1905)

This is pure insanity, folks!

Link to Tulsa data:

Not sure on temps since the Tempest crapped out but it was hot as hell. I think we only got 1.8" of rain.

Max: 101.1
Min: 49.6
Avg.: 79.2
Rain: 0.78"

Somehow September 2019 and 2016 were hotter here by 1 and 0.5 degrees respectively, but otherwise way above average.

From Don Sutherlund regarding a new record obliterating hot Sep for TX (this is consistent with Tulsa, where Sep ā€˜26 was >2F hotter than the previous alltime Sep record for Tulsa @Brent)

The September statewide data for Texas is now in. The heat of September 2026 made a mockery of the State's prior monthly record. September 2026 finished with a statewide mean temperature of 84.1°. 2023, the prior record, was left in the distant dust with a relatively cool 81.8°. September 2019 was further back in third with a mean temperature of 81.5°.

I asked Don if he had the same data for OK. Even though I had known about Tulsa’s extreme roasting in Sept, I was floored by what Don said as OK was even more extreme than TX:

Oklahoma also destroyed its old record. September 2026: 82.8° (old record: 80.1°, 1931). Virtually all of the state exceeded its prior monthly record.

Look at this map!

So, OK as a whole exceeded its old Sept record by 2.7F!! That’s truly insane. @Brent did you hear about this?
