Made it up to a blistering high of 66 degrees today under full sun on top of Beech Mtn. Hard to believe, but some color will start popping out up top a month from today
Went up to Linville yesterday. Absolutely spectacular day. Low 70s with low humidity.
Yesterday just about finished my grass off. I guess if I were to cut it right now, RIP. Still waiting for a good rain before I cut it again and at this rate, I may only cut it one more time this year.
I'm probably going to end up around $1000 in water bill for JJA. I hate my choices
The real question is how do we fumble Thursday through Saturday, the overall setup is just about as good if not a smidge better than last week.

The crab grass that no one wants, usually falls off a cliff 1st week of Sept every summer over here. Get a string of sub 60 DP days and its usually Katie bar the door. The athletic fields are all bermuda and even with heavy irrigation are whitening up tail end sept

This line of storms setup shop about 30 miles south of me last night and me and my son watched it for a long time. He posted 6 videos to YouTube. It was such a light show it made the news today.

That was the most electrical storm I’ve seen. It didn’t stop for even a second. Anyone boating off Oak Island had to be in total fear!
For those of us that missed out last week tomorrow through saturday will be pretty critical to get something meaningful or we may flash drought
Nice tall skinny cape tomorrow, if things form they should be produce nicely but it may be a little tough to get going.
About right for mby anyway, I'm just inside the extreme drought area. I can verify that

There are some aspects that look better tomorrow than they did last Friday, but, tomorrow is likely to have less coverage/movement. Still think today dunks on a few people with limited cell motion and efficienct rainers.

Wilmington is being quite bullish on our rainfall chances over the next couple of days saying anywhere from 2: to 6 plus locally

Finally got a good shower. I love it, the dog not so much
My dog doesn't like rain or cold weather. She especially hates cold rain. She's in for a rough winter.
I got home to .46 inches at my residence near Lake Wheeler in Wake County after a nightmarish drive home from work. It was less than what I was hoping for but every bit is much appreciated.

Rain chances seem to have dried up for the Western Piedmont
Had probably the best storm of the summer for my location yesterday evening. Ended up with 1.87” between 9-11pm

This storm was bigger than last Friday - whiteout conditions here, schit everywhere - what a mess, another big mess. We lost power at 10:30 last night and it was restored at 6AM this morning. Union Power said a half dozen power poles were snapped in half in the Lake Twitty neighborhoods off of Olive Branch road.
2.70" fell in one hour - on the zoom earth mapping product, the cell over Monroe was identified as extreme rain 2.72"/hr
Seems a lot like last Friday those that can get sun going this morning will be the winners this afternoon.
Blanked yesterday. Stayed overcast for the first half of the day. Currently foggy and overcast. We'll see.

Guess I was winning this morning.
Interesting signal on the cams roof morning where the ofb/ front kind of runs out of gas tonight and becomes the catalyst for storms tonight and tomorrow.
This stratus might hang around until next summer
