Pattern NC Only Thread

Well it’s been thundering off and on since noon and somehow had more sun than clouds. Storms pop up in every direction every single time we get favorable conditions. All I get is damn drops that won’t even register in the gauge. This year is particularly frustrating because I’ve planted 6 new Azelea bushes and a wild flower patch back in April in addition to my usual tomato plants. 0.0 today. Action looks over for today. Im bout to kick the dog or something.
 
I ended up with .11 inches of rain here near Lake Wheeler. The heavier precipitation took a jog north as it approached my residence. I'm still grateful for the cooling effect from the rain and I hope the second round of precipitation west of us holds together so we can get some heavier amounts.
 
July is our hottest month over here.

2025= GSO hit 90+ on 19 occasions. We currently stand a good chance to beat that this year unless something flips second half of month. After last July we only recorded one 90 degree day barely in mid August. The onslaught of super el nino will put an end to our misery during July our enhance it through labor Day. I don't see any middle ground. Its gonna effect our sensible wx to one extreme or the other would be my best guess.

There is bath water cooking up GOM/Caribbean. So any small window that allows a quick spin up is the biggest threat for Hurricane LF. Otherwise I'm feeling pretty giddy about avoiding anything forming , let alone making it here from the MDR this year still.

Let me translate: We will be issued a t-storm warning around 4pm -5pm EST - it will look ominous and promising, with the wind blowing and gusts, gusting - tearing and ripping all the red oak, white oak, and sweet gum leaves and dead branches to the ground (you just finished mowing 4 hours ago). After looking at the radar - you will see a much anticipated rain shield coming directly SW to NE orientation right to you (your phone goes off again with a warning). Stepping inside for a bit, not to get soaked - you watch from the front door as the t-storm gently rolls south and east missing you by a 1/4 mile.

This is perfect one small addition, I will come to this site and see the same ones that have gotten multiple inches of rain recently getting it again

I did some consulting in Leland 11 years ago at West Fraser and we would leave the plant around 5PM or so to head out for dinner in Wilmington. When you first walked outside to the car - you needed 30 seconds for your body to say 'what the hell is this' - then 15 minutes later you were soaking wet, and really not quite sure what happened - it was that bad. I feel your pain man... its a tough deal this time of the year in that part of NC.

Yeah 75 DP is rough when we approach the 80 degree DP it's just life sucking disgusting

They tend to dry up as they get closer IMBY....unless of course they are gonna just miss me by a few mile or so lol....and or do the ole refire 3 miles to my east.
 
Rare win for my backyard as these little cells keep firing. Short lived and pulse in nature but some relief all the same

THAN, BLAM A White flash & a HUGE BOOM! Tossed Me off My feet..

Upon "recovering", I noticed the Vent line for the Gas & Diesel Had been struck by lighting, BLOWING A impact crater like 3 X 3 X 3 into the ground with all the piping..

ALL the little manhole covers? blown sky high in different directions..
One rather Large Manhole cover, like 500 pounds was blown like 300 feet out onto highway 17
Thankfully, no-one was hurt..

Though boy, oh boy What a experience,,

I still cannot hear anything..
 
Same as RBR. Had 3 separate hits Sunday and 3 separate last evening. Total 1 inch qpf. 5-10 miles to my SW last night some folks netted 4.0. Shows how fickle the situation is relying solely on pop up summertime storms. Helps some lawn and Gardens out, but doesn't have any impact on the watershed.
 
Nice lime of storms anchored over the coast this morning to my south. Thunder woke me up around 430am but never rained at the house. I better hope we get some his afternoon because ILM has removed my 40% rain chances for the next 3 days and upped my temps to 98 for Thursday Saturday
 
.28 total yesterday. Insane actually, my wife and I talked about how we heard thunder for nearly 4 hrs yesterday and some close strikes but only got fringed by each cell. Atmosphere probably pretty worked over here so I doubt my chances today

I would make an appointment with your doctors office and get checked.
