I don't really care either way because I work night shift and am barely awake during the day but like our sunrise in January would be 835am on permanent DST
Needless to say I'll believe it when I see it... I just don't see it happening here

But just think about it from a pure wx enthusiast standpoint whether one sleeps during the night or the day. The more we have standard time, the more we’d have every single run of every model coming out one hour earlier than that of DST! Because of this, lexx’s idea of all year std time sounds appealing. But assuming that won’t happen, I want winter to remain in standard time at the least as it’s always been except 1974. Winter is when we all get the most excited about the Euro and other models. We’re waiting with bated breath!

Our sunrises are already pretty late here to begin with. I mean we have the opposite problem of Alabama which is early with sunsets(I lived there I remember) Even right now it's 6am the earliest it ever gets and I mean this is the nearly 15 hour days right now. We start losing daylight in 4 weeks

It's not nearly as extreme
Alabama just needs to move to eastern time. Problem solved

Today is Memorial Day where we honor those that have sacrificed their blood and lives serving our country in the military. God Bless everyone of them and their families. I lost an uncle in WWII just a few weeks before the fighting ended. (Yes I’m old) He was shot on by snipers on Okinawa.. only 18 years old. My dad was serving as a crew chief on a B-26 bomber in Europe when he got the word about his younger brother.

Those are the real problems right now. It just seems weird to be obsessed with what the time is
That’s a good point about how this could be perceived. DST is one of those topics people have opinions about when it comes up and you ask them, but it won’t make people rise up and protest or rave about one way or another.
I do wonder though if somewhere, somehow, there’s one voter out there where DST is THE most important issue. The voter that says forget Iran, or abortion, or immigration, gas prices, environmental regulation, gun rights, redistricting, election integrity, taxes, tariffs, foreign policy, screw all of that cause what's that got to do with me? What's up with how dark it gets at 5pm in December???

GA senate race (and entire Senate control) could come down to daylight savings.
Probably because the uniparty isn't concerned with the likes of us.

I guess you start to see why so many people don't care about politics and don't vote. I mean prices were bad before Trump even came back and that's a big reason the election went the way it did. It just feels like it's never going to get better at this point I guess or this is like a new normal
If the Democrats do win in November like has happened every President in the last 50 years it's gonna be only because they turnout better
to be fair, those 40k+ iranian protestors were well before any of the us strikes, i think even before midnight hammer. so he's not technically telling lost souls to kick rocks, but the ones he asked to rise up and take back their country after his strikes in the current "war", those yes.

Sadly, even Gen Jack Keane on FOX business this morning said Trump is no longer going to use the military option. Thats done and now trumpy lumpy is committed to a deal. He also said Iran will renege on anything they eventually sign.

It’s imperative that we revert to STANDARD, not Daylight time, for two reasons, one of which you may have never considered.You know the first: solar noon is closest to 12 o’clock all year. That means an equal number of hours before and after noon each day.This also means earlier sunrises which are significantly better for establishing a healthy circadian rhythm.The second reason is that nearly ONE THIRD of US counties are in the wrong timezone. A significant swath of the country isn’t only an artificial hour ahead because of daylight time… but TWO HOURS ahead of true solar time.Year-round daylight time, especially without recalibrating time zones, would establish this error permanently, affecting millions of Americans.We should be letting the Sun dictate the day the way God made it. Arbitrary, artificial tampering would be worse for us all.Fix the time zones and affix standard time.

Im all for leaving it standard year round like it was for 99.999999999% of human existence. Realigning the current time zones also makes sense as it is a fairly large mess. As noted they tried year round DST already and it was terrible and they abandoned it. So either leave the current system alone or redraw the time zones and stay on standard.

Very good point! Why Does Trump not seem to care? Using your own discernment do you believe he just doesn't care or maybe there is a bigger picture here that maybe we don't know about? The people who hate his guts will have their perspective of course and the people who supported him but have now swung to the "polar opposite" will of course have their perspective as well. I saw in your other post where you mentioned people no longer caring about politics or voting because they feel nothing changes and I am glad to see that happening because those people are wising up. The "Deep State" is not what people believe it to be and those people in charge put whomever they want in positions of power (I hope people are smart enough to see this by now) and when those people get too close and don't play the system their way they take them out. There is more at play here than meets the eye and while it may end up costing Trump politically he is doing what he has intended to do the entire time and that is to crash a corrupt system from top to bottom. The ONLY way he can do this is by exposing it so people become aware they are being lied to. Nobody with a rational mind can believe that we solve problems by half the country pointing fingers at the other half and it works that way on a global level as well.
I just voted against Lindsey Graham and against any establishment in South Carolina.
1. Graham’s been one of the most hawkish of the GOP hawks going back to the John McCain days.
2. He’s been wishy washy about supporting Trump with his being strongly against him in the 2016 election and again on Jan 6th, 2021, but came back to support him in both cases likely for political reasons/job security/$. You’ve got to love politics…or not.
He seems like an opportunist to me. It's not about all maga though. I didn't vote for the Maga candidate for governor

Of the Republicans, I prefer the more moderate/less MAGA candidates in general do well. Although Gov. Kemp is fairly conservative, he’s not extreme and certainly has been independent of the MAGA wing. I voted for Raffensperger for Gov and Sterling for Sec of State for a similar reason.
I voted for mace. I'm tired of the good ole boy Republican getting elected and not doing anything.

I just know something has to change rapidly soon or the midterms are gonna be a historic bloodbath and Trump will never get another thing done. If there's a plan to fix everything it's time to show up
I have Republican friends who are tired.... Not just the prices but Iran... the files... The lack of arrests... If 2020 was really stolen then do something about it or move on already. The list is endless. This is just things I have read. They aren't gonna go out for this election at this rate

I mention polarity on here often and this is a perfect example of that. When people see their perspective as "right" they automatically believe that any other perspective must be "wrong" so when people change their mind on something they tend to swing to the exact polar opposite for some odd reason. The extreme end of the MAGA people are having a difficult time understanding this. Humans are caught in loops and patterns they can't escape from because they can't see that they are trapped in a loop. When we allow evil people to divide us in every single aspect of life they will always win because they don't give a care who wins when they own both sides. They understand how the human mind operates so they use our lack of understanding polarity against us. We have to win politically. We have to win with our religious/spiritual beliefs. We have to win with the chosen economic model we adhere to. What most people fail to see is that the system is designed to keep us at war with each other and it will be no different this November. As you mentioned the lack of arrest frustrating people, who is going to arrest these people? Who is going to charge them, try them and convict them when they created the justice system and own the courts and judges. On top of that the two "sides" will argue to the death over who is evil and should be locked up. It's a never ending cycle of BS that will never end until people wake up and see who the real enemy is and it's our own ego's

Its ridiculous, two inch thick ribeyes at Food Lion where going for 40 bucks yesterday lol. Luckily pork is still cheap so got a few real nice pork chops for 6 bucks lol.

Yeah ridiculous. Can't blame it all on the diesel prices soaring from the war but I'm sure that's not helping at all
Probably gonna get worse as far as beef goes. We heard from cattlemen last year that said with what it was going pound for pound live, the grocery store was still cheap.
That said I did pay 4.68LB yesterday from ground which is still stupid.
As someone who does outdoor site construction I don’t want DST. We can’t start until daylight and a 9:30 sunrise in January is a non starter. Sadly the people voting don’t realize the actual daylight hours don’t change apparently.

Oh I'm gonna be counting the days til we have a 9am sunrise here if it does happen. I can't wait. It's gonna be the greatest thing ever. Well finally be great after all these years of talking about it!

Oh I stock meat at work several days and the prices keep going up
Everyday there's an alert about this price went up. It never goes down
It's not sustainable
But no it didn't start with Iran or even Trump coming back. This has been happening since covid ended
Again a lot of people voted for Trump because they thought he would help the economy
