Misc This Means WAR

Pulling 5k troops from Germany the next 6-12 months is more symbolic than practical since we've got 40K over there now. It will definitely have an impact with European allies though, along with this tariff stuff, cause symbolic actions often have more impact than practical ones.

It doesn't help the timing of it suggests we're doing it cause the German leader hurt our leader's feelings. I'm sure many will disagree, but that's certainly how it will look.

The NM state senator’s daughter is brave and makes a point about Bibi that should be considered regarding her dad and other NM state senators/reps. She asked what Bibi/Israel has to do with local NM issues?

But this video isn’t new as it was made last Sept. The Tweeter James Tate called this >7 month old video “Breaking News”. Also, he referred to Jay Block as a US senator, but he’s a NM state senator. Very sloppy Tweet!
 
So per the latest ceasefire proposal, Iran is willing to open the Strait up even if the US is blockading Iranian shores. Trump says he's reviewing it.

Never forget when Iran says they will open the strait they are conceding nothing whatsoever. Before the bombing started it was fully open toll free.
 
Iran is doing exactly what most of us thought once Trump declared a premature ceasefire. Slow walk and drag out everything with "new" deals microscopically different from the last deal. Meanwhile, they just have to wait for Trump to break.

I agree but I think he's waiting on them to break. It is much better for them to break than us break them. Otherwise we're just inviting another Afghanistan or Iraq 2.0.

They know Europe or the American public have no interest in a ground war, so they feel empowered to drag it out. Only my assumption.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces will begin supporting Project Freedom, May 4, to restore freedom of navigation for commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
The mission, directed by the President, will support merchant vessels seeking to freely transit through the essential international trade corridor. A quarter of the world’s oil trade at sea and significant volumes of fuel and fertilizer products are transported through the strait.
“Our support for this defensive mission is essential to regional security and the global economy as we also maintain the naval blockade,” said Adm. Brad Cooper, CENTCOM commander.
Last week, the U.S. Department of State announced a new initiative, in partnership with the Department of War, to enhance coordination and information sharing among international partners in support of maritime security in the strait. The Maritime Freedom Construct aims to combine diplomatic action with military coordination, which will be critical during Project Freedom.
U.S. military support to Project Freedom will include guided-missile destroyers, over 100 land and sea-based aircraft, multi-domain unmanned platforms, and 15,000 service members.

What would you say if Iran turned into another Afghanistan debacle or even iraq where we would have to put troops on the ground finally and be there for 5 or 10 years? I think we forget myself included that we don't even have troops on the ground there.

Making the blockade tighter would be a start, although I can eventually see Russia and especially China probably trying to break it.
