Misc This Means WAR

I managed to snag gas for $3.69 including tax yesterday, lucky as the station I went to is on a slight delay compared to the same brand right near a link to the interstate.

I think it's fair to talk about the impact of diesel here. There may still be time to change the narrative, but @Jimmy Hypocracy drove by and warned that it's already having an impact with his company a couple weeks back.

I work for construction company and we're paying over $5 a gallon. Not good and that reflects on our pricing for customers. Not to mention delivery cost for food everything this country depends on 18 wheelers.

I'll gladly eat crow but as a veteran I know unless diplomacy prevails. We will be forced to send ground troops. In order to open the Strait the Navy is not enough. We will have to secure the many islands along the Strait and the Shoreline along the Iranian coast. There is no other way to guarantee safe passage. It could take as much as 100,000 troops. That's due to because we would have to move in further from the shoreline to eliminate all threats. We are at a point now where there is no turning back. In order to save our own economy and the world we have to reopen that Strait. Let's hope Diplomacy prevails. I'm normally an optimistic person but I'm not on this one. We miscalculated plain and simple. Iran knows this. They know that they can't beat us militarily. But they can force our hand by causing great economic harm. It's their only card to play.

You always have to read between the lines with the Donald DUCK.

No, I’m not putting troops anywhere,” Trump said at the White House when asked whether he intends to send more service members to the Middle East.

“If I were, I certainly wouldn’t tell you,” he continued, before adding that the U.S. “will do whatever’s necessary to keep the price” of oil down.

The world's economies are too intertwined. And there's no reason to debate that it is what it is. You can argue against it all you want but it doesn't change the facts. Drill baby drill doesn't solve our problems. That's because we rely on other countries for goods. Our 18 wheelers that deliver everything that we consume depend upon diesel. The price of diesel reflects on the price of the goods. Anyway you look at it we can't escape not reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

This following image is admittedly of the most expensive station of any I’ve seen in the area. It just jumped 30 cents during the last couple of days. The credit low for regular is near 3.75. That low had slowly dropped to ~2.35 ~6 weeks ago, which had admittedly been a nice trend from the higher 2 range in the first half of 2025.

Think all of the stations I go by were at about the same level that they have been, but then I was dragging so badly this morning ughhhh. Tried to take actions to prevent myself from sleeping less than 7 hours, and still ended up sleeping less than 7 hours.

At least the gas tax is going to get suspended soon again, I guess.

Interesting. Gas has actually dropped a couple cents here since it peaked last week

I found some gas at $ 3.67 a gallon yesterday at a station close to my house. Normally that would be outrageous but I feel like that's a good price considering the turmoil in the energy markets. I haven't seen any $ 4.00 a gallon gas yet but some of the stations that charge more for quality gasoline like Shell and -- Oil were knocking on the door.

Here we go more troops being deployed slow but steady trickle.

Thousands more US Marines and sailors are heading towards the Middle East as the war with Iran is about to enter its fourth week. The 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Boxer Amphibious Ready Group have had their deployment rerouted and accelerated and are now expected to go to the Middle East.

Regarding the suspension of the gas tax, I did see a station just dropped this morning for reg credit from 3.80 to 3.48 after they had risen from 2.35 to 3.80. Gas tax related?

Yeah I’ve eyeballed the same. Some stations looked like they’re implementing it this afternoon and some haven’t yet.

Edit: Think the lowest for the way I’d pay now is 3.49.

I'm of the opinion that if you bomb our building we vaporize your city, but that doesn't make the Rothchild's and Raytheon's money.

Darn 3.79 here in Wilmington. Energy costs have to come down for most of us without having to make a lifestyle change.

If they remain this high there will be some businesses that I can no longer patronize

I get the feeling that this is just targeting lower down the ranks until they get to a level that folds. Seems like we get a pile of the Iranian government killed and then a lull to pretty much let the next rung of leadership see if they are willing to die or not.
Now that Iran has admitted they have missiles that can go at least 4000km we cant stop till they surrender.

All those people who railed against the other 2024 candidate and inflation and the threat of that candidate starting a war are now cheering on the exact things they were against. It's mind-boggling.

Major inflation is coming hope yall keep cheering then too.
