Had to google that word. So am I supposed to be excited about buckling up? I’m not excited about the thought of anything good coming from all this.
Pretty sure the Burj al Arab was what was hit, and it’d a luxury hotel right on the coast that looks like a sail. It might’ve been collateral damage after an incoming missile was hit. Just because it was hit doesn’t mean it was the intended target (same goes for the girls’ school in Tehran).

Iran did something stupid again.
Hezbollah fired missiles at northern Israel. Beirut strikes coming up.
Can't do that with air strikes alone. Everyone within the military chain of command knows that but I'm not sure the political leadership believes it. We simply do not have the resources to "bomb them into submission" as has been suggested. We don't have the planes, we don't have the airstrips in theater, and we don't have the magazine depth for PGMs or dumb bombs. Iran is 2.5-3x the size of Iraq and has a far more developed defense industrial base.
If no division occurs in the Iranian armed forces/IRGC leading to a more hospitable government, this will all have been for nothing. What you're seeing now is a predictable escalation ladder between the Iranians and US/Israel. Eventually you get to the top of that ladder and if you're unwilling to commit ground forces en masse, there's nothing left to do. The Iranians know that we know we can't keep this up forever. A couple of weeks maybe. After that who knows.

Not really. They're following a deliberate and rehearsed escalation path. Those other nations have limited ability to defend against drone and ballistic missile attacks. They're trying to compel them into pressuring the US/Israel to back off. Something to keep in mind if many of these ME nations have tight censorship in place right now. We're not seeing a whole lot.
In a matter of days WE will have limited ability (not that our current situation in theater is great) to defend our interests in the region if the drone and ballistic missile attacks continue. The Iranians seem to have gone for their more advanced missiles that will have more success getting through PAC-3 batteries. I would assume they don't have huge numbers of those but even a few are obviously hurting.
They haven't struck any nuclear facilities (yet).
Something to think about is just how absurd it is to have little to no information from the President and DoD. There hasn't been any update from the Pentagon briefing room during this entire build up over the last couple of months. The President has put out a couple of pre-recorded short statements.
