Wintry More SE Snow ? (1/16-1/18)

Energy along the west coast is slightly slower. Could be enough to allow the southern end of the trough to dig and tilt negative

Nam starting to elongate the trough and putting a lot more energy in the plains and shifting it west vs 6z. Probably going to be a big run

I noticed it shearing out the part of the trof a bit over the great lakes and putting more in the SW portion of it...euro was trending that way last night too

Yeah, really vanishes in E TN. Not good for Carolina peeps.

And @63 you can see moisture gathering over the Atlantic just off the coast, should see a good increase over Central NC here shortly with this run I think..... let's see, has potential to be a good hit

Yeah that elongation is what the early model runs with the big qpf totals had where the southern energy separated and went negative. We need that badly.

Bulk of Tennessee covered in snow extending into MS/AL.

Whats interesting to me is the euro dried up a bit and then generated more qpf. NAM actually looks better at
H5 comparing to last nights euro but doesn't generate more qpf...euro did...I still think NAM should have more but the trends are really good

Slower for us 78-84 should have precip devolving over the area when the best jet dynamics and fgen move through

closes off at 84 hours over TN!!! Wow....thats what we get when the energy digs all the way to TX/OK panhandle. Big run for NC and SC!
Looks great in SE VA too makes me happy !!

Man, awesome run. Hope the Euro keeps it up and the GFS comes around. But great trends for NC now.

Nice and for the Carolina's it's still snowing at the end so those numbers at least for eastern sections would go up

So the trends are for the line to dry out completely over Georgia? Trying to make sense of all of this.

What do we need to happen for the precip to make it further west to Charlotte?
