Amazing.
No sleet here unfortunately, but the heavy rain kept a lot from building. We lost power for a while this morning, still 30.4.

Checking thru the ASOS data in NC, there is about 0.25” of ZR accumulation already at Lumberton, Fayetteville and Rocky Mount-Wilson airports. Your ZR corridor with this storm so far has setup along I-95

Cannot believe how steady the temp has stayed in the upper teens here even at noon. Had a period of mist here that actually put a noticeable glaze on the trees. Right now a bit heavier and has sleet again

So is it safe to say “so far” (still awaiting kidney beans) this has been a meteorology anomaly and no model knew bow to handle it because the strength of the wedge was an exception to every single law of winter weather physics in the book?

Middle of the day sitting at 18 degrees. Been a long time since that has happened. If somehow we stay under 20, it would be the first sub-20 high since Feb 1996.
For the younger guys if any old timer tries to
tell you “back in my day it used to do this and it used to do that.” Just cite January 2026 bc they’ve never seen anything like this. This should be a natural disaster by now and it’s not (yet)

Any Charlotte updates? Down here at Sunset Beach we’re above freezing at 34 with a foggy mist. Very minor icing now gone. Was looking forward to those 60s this afternoon but that’s going to bust massively.

tail end is almost always ZR anyways around here. Even after the best snowstorms. I’ll accept it
