Misc General Banter Thread

It is amazing to me how many people are afraid of the Dark…. Is it inconvenient? Sure, would the pictures, memories and videos be worth it? Sure. It’s the same Tornado or Hurricane Chasers it’s the experience. Will it F some stuff up? Probably, that’s part of it

Dude I get that you want to see winter weather but ice storms are no joke. Ice storms are usually more damaging since it involves power outages and trees fallin. And this one looks to be the most potent one in a while too and the Arctic air coming in will make things worse combined with the power outages coming from this potent ice storm.

Just like heat waves, extreme cold can and does kill people every year. No power and extended periods below freezing is a bad bad scenario. Extended periods below 15F is an emergency without adequate heat.

Yep, we had our ice and sleet in Madison in January 2024, and it was horrible. The stuff just would not melt! We were trapped at home for 5 days. My office was closed the whole week. Thankfully, we never lost power, but it sure was a terrible week. Give me cold rain if it spares us another week like that.

I get it… but I really just think you all are taking my being a smartass too literally. It’s not like I’m sitting on the sideline wishing that ---- on yall…. If I could have it happen just to my street I would. I literally just wanna experience it that’s all. I understand it comes off weird I get that. No harm was meant, but I see when we bring up death in a weather forum I’ve probably gone too far. Sorry mods yall can delete my stuff. I was just trying to stir the emotions in the room up, my apologies

I’ll say this. I have 3 kids 2 little and ones a teen. Helene was not convenient at all but some memories were made that are priceless. If we get a bad ice storm and the power goes out, yep inconvenient. But we will have a good time you can count on that. I let my kids go outside and scooter during peak rain and wind during Helene and they still talk proudly about it.

I wasn’t I’ve been through enough hurricanes to not wish them on anyone. I don’t need entertainment off of others suffering

You do realize that no ones wishes have anything to do with what will happen, right? One thing i can assure is if tomorrow morning all the models flipped to 40's and rain for all of NC there would be alot of unhappy people who post here because they like extreme weather.
