This guys behavior is truly unhinged and embarrassing. I’m not exactly sure why Bam exists when our tax dollars pay for the NOAA, and advertisers pay for local broadcasting.

they said they were sold out of snow shovels somewhere in atlanta.
Walmart in athens was cleaned out i was told. Friend said he couldn't even get his favorite sardines lol Fortunately i have all my prep work done. Now I wait.
I got a sled last winter that I am hoping to use assuming we get enough sleet!
I may be freezing in the dark but we'll get some sledding in, hopefully!!

GFS beats Euro on this battle imo. CAD is under modeled as well as the QPF on the Euro
This is the higher end amount map so putting it in banter. But holy crap 
Two weeks ago this Saturday we had plenty of thunder. The old wives tale did predict the 2000 ice storm too.
Honestly, it’s entirely possible and fair. Sleet could cut in but that wedge is lethal

How is the gfs showing this big of a difference from the euro and every other model? I’m sorry but this is embarrassing if and most likely when the gfs falls completely on its face.

Or the Euro and it’s crippling ice storm plus one more jog north from having no snow even here on the Tennessee Kentucky boarder. Honestly it’s been a while since I’ve been this frustrated with a storm. Mostly because I’m fearful of not only losing all the snow but of losing all my power for a week straight
Have to love the fact that this freezing rain map is giving a giant middle finger literally to all of middle Tennessee.

Welp I'm enjoying my power while I still have it! You really appreciate things like that when your staring down the barrel of a 12 gauge shotgun loaded with a slug but you know! Lol
$200 in supplies I hope I don't have to use them but at the same time they better come in damn good use!!! Lol

I'm not surprised. Local stations are hitting the threat with the respect it deserves. David chandley has repeated the "generational ice storm" line several times today again. That will certainly make people run to the store.

I went to Aldi Monday. Not to panic buy but bc I eat a lot of bread and I knew this would happen. Take advantage of this forum lol
one local met here in birmingham has constantly been calling the gfs an outlier and basically worshiping king euro says " it is the most accurate/reliable model for winter weather" and dont even think to ask any questions in ref to the ICON, UKMET or something like that

Wild how Dallas / Shreveport/ Little Rock / Memphis / Nashville have just been a lock to get a big Winter Storm every Winter since 2020.

Years ago, I back fed mine. If I recall my 5KW would not drive my furnace. I bought some 5gal cans, a hand pump, and filled my cars up with gas for extra gas if needed. After a few years and learning my neighborhood almost never losses power, I sold my generator and abandoned the idea of alternative back up power. I also kept forgetting to run my generator to keep it in good shape.
If my cell tower goes down, I'll be AFK. I recently dropped Comcast for AT&T Air. Zero redundancy, now.

There have been a few minor ones in Atlanta and NW.
People don't understand whether you want to blame it on global warming or whatever your vice is the climate is changing!!! It would not surprise me after Helene to see some of these totals come to fruition!
