So now the Canadian came south? So confused bc I didn’t refresh for 30 minutes
I would say it’s very probable. I think it’s extremely telling how the CMC came in line with the GFS and Icon. They will probably wait for tonight’s Euro as well as the morning guidance before issuing watches further south.FFC hasn’t issued an Ice Storm Warning for any part of their area since February 2014. I wonder if we might get one out of this system?
Buying my snowblower now. 2 years in a row baby!!
So we basically still have zero idea? Do we go Euro or GFS? Crazy we still cannot figure this out.
The finger never disappoints
It is highly plausible for parts of NE GA to get these. The only way they wouldn't is if NWS issue regular winter storm warnings instead with the "heavy mixed precipitation" which includes snow/sleet accumulations and ice accumulations.FFC hasn’t issued an Ice Storm Warning for any part of their area since February 2014. I'd honestly be thrilled that the pattern is showing snow for us right now; way more likely that moves extremely NW towards yall.Save some for us in the western piedmont lol. We’ve been in a ridiculous drought

Yeah, I'm going to do my best to forget this exists for about 6 or so days (I won't). It's the perfect set-up for us again, which would be just so unlikely to play out 2 years in a rowDefinitely a fun pattern! Losing a lot of sleep but oh well lol

I'm hoping you guys in Atlanta stay clean. I don't want to see all those videos on youtube of the cars stuck on 285 because they didn't know winter was here. They deserve peace.Noticed the wedge never made it into ATL on the CMC...interesting...probably change at 06z..staying up for the Euro and off to bed I go!
Question: do we have a sample of the HP or the N/S stream energy?
I’m lying in a Colorado hotel bed after an extremely long day of presenting to meteorologists and giving tv interviews and interacting with way more people that I’m used to interacting with. Barely able to stay awake. I have a flight in the AM back to Atlanta. Here comes the EURO
Brother, I have been really hoping that this bucket of qpf could be dumped on the snow end for us since the liquid end has appeared out of reach. It looks like we're heading towards a complete mess of 4-6" of sleet with a 0.5" ice on top. That's going to stick for a long time. I'm not looking forward to this one. It's looking worse every run.
I am one that DON'T AT ALL!!!Posters from around Atlanta sound like they WANT an ICE Storm.
You are right...I seen where the ATL airport should not get ice but the wedge is so strong that we do.Euro has basically no Ice for Atlanta and points South and West and Significant Icing in areas NE of the city. That's how a lot of Icing events play out historically so it wouldn't surprise me if that's what happens.
I mean I have a feeling Atlanta will get SOME ice, but usually what happens is the city gets a little ice and areas in Gwinnett and Forsyth get a lot more. You are right...I seen where the ATL airport should not get ice but the wedge is so strong that we do.
If this plays out, it's catastrophic. Widespread power outages coupled with single digit temperatures in the south don't play nice. We're looking at extreme danger to lives. In my local retail looks this afternoon, anything associated with non-electric heating such as propane/kerosene is vacant off the shelves. The many that need it will be without and unprepared. I hope this isn't as bad as I'm seeing it play out.I’m actually getting legit a little concerned how Monday ish is going to go. With no heat and temperatures potentially near zero, it isn’t a stretch to say this is a somewhat dangerous situation for many. It may not be dangeorus to me but this is looking like it may be exceedingly unpleasant.
