I know right?? And people think South Dakota's a northern state, but it's got "South" in the name.People keep worrying about suppression but this thing needs to keep coming south. The snow is currently not even modeled as a southern storm. Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia are not southern states. Heck, one of them even has "North" in the name.
And don't get me started on West Virginia being an eastern state. That's crazypants.

I may get upset when I whiff but man I sure love to know they are whiffing. I also will tone it back on my wishcasting after seeing how annoying those northerners sound.

Dude, don’t do that. I thought you had finally started looking at pivotal and checking out the maps that you were posting here. You’ve been running from the American forum with their analysis and posting them here. Why? We post all of the same stuff over here. You could see that if you would slow down and read the discussion thread.

It was a joke. I do look at the maps and the runs. I actually would enjoy doing play by play of the model runs in the discussion thread, but...you know.

Well, I do recall the "official Guidance" specifically saying it was over. More than once. Also the" official guidance" has been way north all day. But having to bend knee, come down south

By the way, the Weather Channel has named this coming winter storm Fern LOL. Big Mama would be a better name for what might be the mother of all winter storms for some of us.

Yeah I think a model thread would be good and also an official explanation of how the snow turns into ice since I saw that earlier maybe it should be a pinned post or something haha

You could just run a couple of extension cords inside to critical items such as the fridge.
By the time this storm hits, I'll be so sleep deprived that little details like a tree in the living room won't keep me up when its all over.

What’s the best generator for that and microwaves and heaters? And what kind of cords? I know they can’t be generic.
IDK. Fern sounds good. Sort of an old school name for an old school storm.

Have to wire it to your main breaker panel unless you get a generac with a transfer switch.
Very easy to do a portable generator and well worth it when you need one.

Fridge = putting a cooler on the back deck
You have to calculate how many watts the devices you plan on connecting that will be on at the same time. Same with extension cords. 16 ga is the cheapest and will handle things like a microwave. 14ga or 12ga for electric heaters.
For heating, you would be better off getting a propane indoor heater.
I have natural gas and will just use the stove and the antique space heater in my man cave to heat the house.

Why not just get a gas generator, that is what I had
I have a freezer in the garage full of food. If I lose power, I'll open the garage door. That should keep the stuff inside the freezer good for 2-3 days.
