Misc General Banter Thread

Alright….which one of you(s) is going after BAM? 😂

I have a feeling they will claim victory come this weekend as will the southern slider folks

Them posting this beyond pure embarrassment. @GaWx has already shown us how atrocious their early January forecast was. I'm not even sure why they exist tbh.

If this one doesn’t atleast give 3-6” across the Carolinas I believe I’m out …. I may never trust again even with all this agreement

I’m so skeptical, just sitting here waiting for the rug to be pulled and this puppy turns into an apps cutter it stays south of us.

Would be stunned if central NC got 3-6”…this is more likely an ice storm. But that’s just my opinion….hope I’m wrong.

Forgive me if this gets posted often, but with all the comparisons to Jan 1988 I thought I would share this blast from the past. Augusta GA news footage from the event. I lived in Burke County GA at the time and remember my Mom white knuckling the drive home from early school release.....cars in ditches around every turn.

Any concern that we get a shift south like last year? If I remember correctly it was similar to this storm and the cold air was not modeled correctly and the NW trend never happened.

Well well well. 1988 getting referenced. Debates on ZR. Talks of 1 foot ensemble means. We are soooo back..

Part of me wants to post a 2-3 paragraph about dialing it back a wee bit and saying 3+day is for pattern/signal, while under 3 days for details. But that’s no fun is it?

But seriously though. How much for RDU?

Didn’t the Deep South storm last year start out as a Carolina’s storm but a strong high pressure suppressed it? Could it happen again ?

Any of you experts have any insight here? A 1056 high isn’t causing suppression? It’s a shortwave? ….that combined with the fact that the high will be departing on Saturday means this thing retreats north really quickly?

This banter is the worst banter of them all. I fear of a scenario like this. I think our Low was placed differently though
