Misc General Banter Thread

I must be missing something? This is fine. Last year's storm also trended SE somewhat before correcting back to the NW at the final hour.
That one wasn’t even close to my house on modeling and I still got the ground covered and the road in front of my house turned to a skating rink.

Where do all yall live…
Talking about December of 2017 and January of 2014… haven’t had more than 1.5 inches in my neck of the woods since 2010

I live in Youngsville NC but I will say I have gotten pretty lucky since 2014 when it comes to snow.

I don’t know how many folks sometimes confuse what thread they are on, but I do. If I’m using my phone.

I can’t help but wonder if there is a way to tweak something. Even maybe updating the placeholder text for replying? To make it more obvious what thread you’re in.

No clue what config options are available. But just a thought for admins/mods.

Agree, also… discussing the discussion or agreeing/disagreeing may not always be “banter”…. May be difficult to discern for some which goes where

It's really not that difficult. The one line post that just agree with someone are not even necessary, use the thumbs up and let it be that. The thing is, if everyone who visited this site wanted to say "I agree too warm" or "Looks west to me" without any other discussion, this place would be a complete nightmare to try to weed through and find actual discussion.

Y'all got to have a little faith, all these models gonna have all this right along the coast then the storm gonna come in with aind of its own and say what models and it's gonna track right over the heart of SC! You have to believe

Where has the time gone Mack. We still need to get that beer one day before I turn 50
Man that would be awesome! I’m down that way from time to time!!
I look in the mirror now and still suprise myself sometimes !! Like who is that old dude!
Little Mack is down there doing his thing, delivering appliances for Lowe’s
He will be 19 in Feb
That really makes me feel old! 😢

@bouncycorn could give more insight here but it's not as simple as a list of models blended. It's model data from globals, short range, raw model data, corrected biases, models we don't have access to... I believe it's a complicated process. NWS relies on it for guidance but with that said, have no clue what data is causing the higher amounts so far south
NBM contains publicly available models from met agencies around the world. The data is bias corrected using a simple algorithm (determine bias at each gridpoint for each model and lead-time, then apply it). Then the models are weighed based on weights that differ by variable.
