It's weird to go back and see a post I made on AmericanWx 12 years ago. I can't believe 2014 was that long ago.

It's a shame. I rarely go there anymore, and haven't posted in years. I do enjoy the Met disco during hurricane season, though.

As far as a thread, it is still a bit early for that. There is the chance that we might be talking about a App cutter when all is said and done. I think that 72 hours before would be good for a thread if things are still looking like they do now.

It would take a lot for this to be an Apps runner. All upstate folks worried about a nw trend, relax! I'm still more worried about losing this to the southeast than to the northwest

I joined American weather around 2012 I remember that storm. Had some good times back then especially with Burger doing play by plays. Too much pettiness killed it though.

if it calms your nerves i think the op gfs is the perfect, optimized depiction of what this storm can do given the currently progged background state. think of it like a play in football where everyone nails their blocking assignments and a running back goes untouched for 30 yards. the bomb off new england should be a tell tale sign. remove this and the modeling consensus showed a lighter storm making moderate, reasonable northwest adjustments. i'm less worried about too much nw trend given this and i think 18z will be more muted
