Pattern NC Only Thread

Now that we have a NC only Thread can I pose a Discussion …..

Western NC- Anything West of I-77 (Maybe 321 if you’re being Picky)

Central NC- I-77 to I-95

Eastern NC - I-95 to Ocean

Thoughts ? I’ve always wondered people’s opinion

I-40 and North is also a different to me too that’s “Northern NC” imo ….. Ok thanks I will take it off the air now

Your dividing lines between Western, Central and Eastern North Carolina are pretty much what I would use.

The real question is: eastern or western NC BBQ? 🤔

I personally like western more 👀
I prefer the Eastern style myself with the vinegar base although I wouldn't turn down either. My wife is from Wayne County and for some reason she likes the Western style better. In my opinion, NC has the best pork barbecue in the nation although I must admit that the Alabama White Sauce is some good stuff to put on your barbecue.

It’s definitely been getting consistently warmer around the holidays, especially compared to when I was a kid.

For example, 65F+ days, maybe you’d get one or two of them back in the day in the core of the holidays (Xmas Eve to New Years)?

Now we just get them nearly half the time, sometimes more.

Used to rarely get warm enough to play golf or hit the beach at Christmas time. But since about 2015 or so, it’s been a discussion point in my family it seems every other year or so.

This is the percent of 65F+ days at RDU & FAY between Xmas Eve & New Years since I’ve been alive

So I grew up in Ga so I am a western style although I will eat both! But I’ll tell you all if you want good bbq I think the best in the state is Prime BBQ in Knightdale! It’s Texas style meaning Brisket, Pulled Pork and Ribs but it’s amazing!!

This is what made 2022 so fun for me. Christmas/holiday week has just happened to be warm for what feels like most years of my childhood. When we go to the beach for family reunion at New year’s I’m never really worried about missing snow back home.

Yeah I can confidently say it didn’t used to be this way, at least around this time of the year.

But hey I can’t complain about the warmth either.

It’s crazy to say that it’s almost become a tradition at this point that I go golfing or hit the beach every year during the holidays.

I’ll get my place above 3500’ eventually and flee from the torch and everyone can get mad at me as I post my snow pictures several times a winter

When it comes to beef barbecue, brisket, etc. Texas style is the best. I agree with you there.
