TEXAS ARCTIC ARMAGEDDON PART 2 COMING
I call that a nice November. So 12 straight days of above normal. And low temps may be 10+ above normal for a solid week.
I’m canceling hurricane season for next year. I don’t like what I see. Will we have a Bipolar Banter thread this season, I see the November thread already has celebrated and cliff-dived at least 4 times in the past 10 days.
@griteater: "here's a well sourced and thought out hypothesis on what I think is coming"
some of the board: "nah."
Maybe you should move northOne day next week my forecast high is 80 and low around 60. I would say that’s a bit above average for Mid to Late November !
Maybe you should move north
I shouldn’t have to move north. Those are South Florida type temps ! Average low is close to 40 !Maybe you should move north
Winter cancelled pack it up boys see you in 2026.I will admit that S2S forecasting is not something I am as knowledgeable about as some others on here - I wish I had the time to dig into the literature. However, I was speaking with some graduate students and Dr. Sarah Larson, who started at State just after @Webberweather53 left, and is our resident expert on ENSO and S2S predictability. The consensus from them is that since the MJO lag generally is ~20 days out, it is often challenging to distinguish the MJO from noise as it heads east, and it's like playing a game of telephone. Be cautious not to become overly confident in relying on the signals.
That said, the ECMWF weeklies have a slight SER pop-up, so hopefully the MJO prevails over the Nina signal.

Atlanta won’t get a freeze through December 27th if AccuWeather is rightI mean I trust AccuWeather about as much as I trust whatever model shows 10 degrees on Thanksgiving(it's the very end of the Euro AI and it's wind chills apparently) but like come on people are gonna cancel their Thanksgiving plans because of cold air that may not even happen![]()
Dude, you gotta move NorthI have no idea they never post the model or the run it was

February is no longer a winter month in most of the southeast. It’s the beginning of spring.Honestly AccuWeather probably leans towards climo at that range first off and second I don't even care about extreme cold anyway its been proven it never snows rightso for me it's whatever at this point
Well see but I keep telling people a lot of years it's January February here. If anything happens in December here its just a bonus imo
