We will see but it has been a weird summer 😂

Looks like the two-day reprieve we may have next weekend in the Carolinas lines up with an *outdoor* wedding I'll be attending in Florida.

No rest for the weary. Only thing worse than a fall wedding during football season is a summer outdoor wedding. Of course i have 3 of both to attend this year.

We all know the unnecessary heat wave either side of labor day that makes you hate summer is coming then the first front then another set of 85+ days probably coinciding with a tropical system then it finally gets nice

legit summer cad is always a little odd. i recall a few in recent augusts (i think we had a day in 2019 where we barely left the 60s). just strange to have the cloudy damp but its still t shirt and shorts out

edit: august 24-27, 2019. highs in the 70s daily with constant NEly winds
 
Is it just me or have the storms this year been very efficient lightning makers? Seems we went through a few years with storms that didn't produce much lightning but this year it's been very electric

Talked to my HVAC guy the other day. He had just left a house where lightning had knocked some gutters and some brick off a corner of someones house. It fried the control board for the AC but luckily the the unit was unharmed.

This is possibly related to higher avg dewpoints in your area.
 
Since it's kinda OT, I'll put this in here...

Apparently, the Speedway Classic has already been a disaster. It leaks everywhere and they've ran out of pretty much everything merch/food wise.
 
They aren't going to want to, but honestly, they need to halt this game again.

This is an absolute disaster. Honestly, with the dark cloud luck wise for the Braves over the last two years...MLB really, REALLY shouldn't have picked them for this one, even if it made sense to do it as the southern US loves NASCAR.

It's a shame, as the overhead shots were neat.
