I think maybe the Covid death statistic within the meme was added value? ?
We went to Frankie’s Fun Park earlier and there were quite a bit of people there. Very few people wearing masks. Employees were not wearing masks. It was business as usual. We had a great time. I took my son on the tandem go-carts and he said “I’m done.” after lap #2. Maybe I’m not a good driver?

Should of just asked the question. In your post are all ,part,what percent of the hospital increases related solely to corono? I didnt see a breakdown. Didnt want to assume it was all 100% corono related. Was it? Did I miss it?

It’s highly ironic some of the same folks judging him in this moment are those that speak out against wearing masks and speak out against the dangers of Coronavirus.
We as humans aren’t perfect. Wearing a mask all day is hard and the natural behavior when speaking is to pull it down, your brain tells you to do so to allow lip reading for another person to understand you or hear you better.
I’m guilty of this and I’ve worn a mask every day for 9 hours since April. No one is perfect and this should not discount the importance of wearing masks and keeping them on properly.
Trump, for example: says he keeps a mask with him in his pocket, but did we see him wear one in an Oval Office full of people and with his sit down with Portnoy? No. So who’s the hypocrite? A person making a honest mistake or someone lying to save their election? I wonder.

This. If you read the whole article he explains that he felt dehydrated and removed the mask for a few minutes to get some sips of his drink. Now, I wasn't there, so maybe he's lying, maybe he's not, I don't know. But it seems like a reasonable explanation until we know otherwise.

I believe if they wanted to set a good example they should have been sitting a couple seats apart. I mean they literally had the whole stadium to themselves and were sitting elbow to elbow. I found that a bit irresponsible. Deliberate? Maybe.

He could set a better example, like our president. I'm sure you don't wear a mask because Trump doesn't. It's a shame you still post this crap on this thread, there are plenty of political threads and meme threads for this silly stuff. Instead of posting memes and arguing about the effectiveness of masks, you should look up long term health problems from covid-19

That may be so, but there’s a long list of sources cited that are not from conspiracy sites. Strange how that works.
It sort of sucks that I’m the only right leaning poster that still posts in this thread. Oh well. If I can throw an occasional wrinkle in the doomsday echo chamber then I will have done my job.

That’s a kinda big assumption that just because you are the only one advocating sketchy mask use practices that you are the only “right leaning” poster. So it just automatic now that if you think mask wearing is polite, or science, or protective, or any other number of reasons one would wear one, that you do so as a non-conservative? That Is a concerning, and I’d argue likely false, line of reasoning.
You'd be surprised to know that my political beliefs probably align with yours quite a bit. That being said I don't care what political party A or B says about how they believe the virus should be managed when the science and real world examples say this option is the better way to go.
In the end though you said the other day masks were political and I don't disagree. For whatever reason a large % of the population have hitched their wagons to this idea that the people of their political party know best and have rendered themselves unable to make informed decisions for themselves or believe anything they believe is from "the other side". That is for a different thread though.
lol my assumption was because the people downvoting my backings in the Covid thread are the same people consistently downvoting me in the political thread ?. It doesn’t take brain surgeon to connect the dots. It’s all intertwined. I will just stay out of this thread. You’re all going to get the virus eventually.
I’ve never been active in the political thread, heard it’s kinda bonkers. Maybe just know that it’s not all politically tied. I certainly don’t have much dog in that hunt, just trying to keep my family as safe as I can.
I am glad you were able to successfully recover, but maybe don’t be as unkind as the say everyone will get it though. Perhaps it is time for a break.

Are they just mentioned or are they actually cited properly? Are they real citations? Are these real sources with real backups? Hard to make a call like that from a site that's listed as quackery.
They are legit but they all come from an assumption of 1 mask wearer and the virus is just free floating. It kind of makes the point of masks being worn by all

Postponing colonoscopies is basically the only thing I’m seeing and many people don’t even get those routinely anyway. (Not to discount them but we always fill the peeps and people cancel their appt because colonoscopies aren’t fun and no one wants to do them, Covid fear or otherwise)
From my experience in NC our volume this summer is dramatically higher, more people are going to the doctor in July than they did in April and May because those appointments were postponed. So we have very high, abnormal prescription volume.
We usually are dead in the pharmacy volume wise during summer, because the “normal” is folks go on vacation and don’t make doctor appointments or elective surgery appointments during July. We often have time to do drop staff hours and do projects.
This is not the case this summer. The majority of people are going to the doctor. (Article says 90%) id put it at 100% for the triangle of NC.

So for those of you who love to stereotype and broad brush, I am very conservative and I wear a mask outside of my home. Will it stop me from getting the virus? I have no idea and neither do any of you.

Assuming you keep your distance from people as well, and they keep their distance from you, both will give you a decent chance at not being exposed. I think people forget a mask and distancing together is more effective than just one over the other. Distancing without a mask spreads the virus further and no distancing with a mask cancels out the fact masks reduce the distance of how far the virus spreads effectively.

I was at Food Lion one evening last week and a heavy smoker walked by me in the aisle . He was about 4’ away and I could immediately smell the smoke. Was not aware individual smokes till they walked by.

Covid 19 is viral just like flu it has already mutated.I would think the vaccine would have to be modified from time to time just like the flu vaccine. Imho it boil down to common sense wash your hands wear a damn mask in public and keep your distance nobody hardly does these things exspecially a combination of all three. I own a small business I see it everyday. The internet propaganda machine is running full throttle....

This shouldn’t be political which is why Jimmy’s post about being the only “right” poster left in the thread is interesting. I know PLENTY of republicans who agree with Dems on Covid. I work with them. Seems like he is broad brushing the stereotype of right posters not agreeing with left posters on Covid. It’s possible folks....
Even Tucker Carlson and Fox News flipped the script on masks and called those not wearing them idiots, and that “of course masks work!” Laura Ingram as well.
I’m just glad people as a whole are finally starting to wear masks and the narrative at least on that is merging to one common thought between both political realms.
