Pattern Ah-choo April Discussion

I find that Charlie would have been a great politician. He has this great ability to change his thoughts like the weather around him

I'm not changing anything . I stand by my comments yesterday . It's damn stupid to act like upper 80s is so unheard of for late April . People acting like it's never been this hot before .

I would crush all the old politicians in Washington. They would be begging to go back to the nursing home

Been on weather boards a long time and I NEVER remember a time so many people bitched about 80s in late April . It's unreal

Just looking back upper 80s in late April aren't that common. No one is really bitching about the temps alone, its more the fact that it doesn't rain then you are putting near 90 degrees on top of it. That isn't a recipe for success.

I've had mid to upper 80s in April in mby for the last 8 years running sometimes in EARLY April

OK? I don't live there

Again making a point . People for the last two days acting like mid to upper 80s is unheard . It's really not . Ill check cities in other states and see what I come up with

Meh just looking back I see that RDU has hit the 87-92 range quite a bit in April. So I guess it's more frequent than I thought but its usually only one day. The last memorable April heat I can think of was 2001.

Regardless, I believe this started as rainfall or the lack their of over the weekend. Care to set over/unders?

After the 12z runs I'm in . Are we picking for just our own backyards ? Or we pick a city in every southeast state ?

I'd say most of the southeast gets into the upper 80's almost every April. It's no big deal. I have even saw it hit 90 in MARCH before.

The 12z GFS is back to the north a little with the front on Sunday. The NAM stayed the same and I'm going with it and saying that the area north of Atlanta GA to near Myrtle Beach SC is wedged in on Sunday. Sunday temps around 53-56 at GSP.

I believe I just answered the question that was posted.... operative word being was ;)

Oh boy it's getting ugly now. The drought area is almost left out of any rain on the 12z GFS this weekend and I don't think it is done going north yet. We may as well prepare for a very dry late spring and a very dry and hot summer. An entire summer like August of 2007. Due to the scattered nature of the precip now, some of us may be about to go 1-2 months, or even longer, without a single drop of rain from here on out.

This is a ludicrous statement about going over two months without rain IMO . It's April one of your driest months

SC rainfall only goes up each month from here on out . In fact June ,July and August are the wettest months with April being one of the driest

I wouldn't be shocked to see a few storms roll off the Apps and try to make it to our area this evening
An early start to the apocalyptic flooding!??

Speaking of Luda, anybody see Fast 8 yet?? It's a good flick! And about as realistic as our chance of an inch of rain this weekend ! :(

Gotta love frustration-based weather predictions.

The SER next week looks fierce. Thankfully breaks down after though (we hope!)

agreed that is one monster ridge but it looks like it might be just far enough offshore that it aids in getting gulf moisture northward versus sitting over top of the region and baking

Looks like the weekend rain wont amount to much for central AL....then were looking at another 7 to 10 without a drop. We may very well push the 30 day mark in Spring. Welcome to the new summer...April to November

NAM cuts out baby off over Georgia this weekend . Would be a great thing for many
