Wintry Snow Event 19-20 Jan 2019, Tenn Valley

Models are trending that some parts of TN and the mountains may see some accumulating snow Sunday morning. Perhaps even parts of N AL and N GA. NWS Nashville has a Special Weather Statement out calling for some accums. NWS Huntsville discusses some snowfall in the AFD, though not accumulations.

You said models are showing a large part of TN getting accumulating snow but i'm not seeing it on that map ? Looks like pretty much nothing except for a dusting-1 inch in some areas ?

Think we're good for a 6 hour flizzard but ya a dusting about it for us. Plenty of ice though...couple inches of rain followed by upper 20s will be interesting.
 
Here’s a really good explanation of tonight’s multiple possibilities as far as snow goes in Middle Tennessee. It’s also a reminder of how hard it can be to forecast snow in this part of the country.

Here’s some more information for us Middle Tennessee folks on tonight’s event. Winter weather advisory is only about 20 minutes drive away from me. I won’t be shocked if they put one up for the White House area at some point today.

Amazing outside right now... about 1" snow, still falling light/moderate. Just drove around town. 29 degrees and roads are as wet as if it were pouring rain. Over 1" of rain today and 57 degrees before the temp started falling. 24 is forecast low tonight. May be an icy mess in the morning, but for now, road is still warm.
