Yea that’s David Goldman. He’s a conservative economist employed by CNN. He also argues in that article that neither Iran nor the US control the Strait, which is probably true. But I really don’t think it means “CNN is now with Trump on oil manipulation.”
Fun fact--Mr Goldman once argued Putin would never invade Ukraine because it didn’t make economic or strategic sense. That was 3 days before the invasion began in Feb 2022. Ironically, I agree that it made no economic or strategic sense so I’ll give him that credit, but man his ultimate conclusion was as wrong as you can get.
