Political Thread Part 2

The thread is the truth

Families are hurting

Communist actions to stifle free speech does not hide the impact that stolen elections have had a disastrous impact on the American working class

Over 75% of working blue collar Americans agree

As far as Bidens war on oil which is causing a world of hurt i always ask people a simple question. Do you have any idea how incredibly better your life is because of oil? Of course they have no clue.

I am hoping this a Political whamby thread. Just completely unhinged, TV anchor style rants directed at the sky. The type where you get a bead of sweat going on your forehead as your typing. We all need a cleansing.

Yeah this won't last long but I'll take my shots while it's up.

The economy is awful, no one wants to work (trust me we can't fill positions no matter how much they raise the salary), inflation stupid high, gas ridiculous and no it's not Putin's fault. Biden specifically stated when he was running for POTUS that he would push for a transition away from fossil fuels, it's deliberate and gas prices were already rapidly rising prior to the Russian invasion. No one can explain the idea of buying oil from Russia (which he finally got a clue), Saudi's and Venezuela, while simultaneously restricting oil production within our own borders. And don't give me those 9k contracts to drill stuff, they are exploratory drilling contracts, some places will have oil some want, they take time and once they find it there are so many regulations, thanks to "saving the environment" that they couldn't maximize production anyway. Start back to building the pipeline, relax some of those restrictions that have hampered production, go back to being energy independent and not dependent on these ruthless regimes around the world, it's ridiculous.

While I'm at it, I find it ironic that those same people that screamed $15/hr wages weren't nearly enough are now also screaming that we shouldn't be complaining about $7, $8 or $9 a gallon gas. Bizarro world we live in and many are being taken by the government scam artist.

People want it let them have it apparently it's desired. Can't wait ill be back in 36-48 hours to say see why this was a bad idea
If people could actually discuss the issues, it could last, but it will only be a matter of time before it turns into a (former POTUS) is great and present is bad mud slinging brawl. I'll shut it down then

Hey at least maybe it keeps the Ukraine thread clean

It's easy to keep these threads on topic and not get them locked but you know someone is going to come unglued pretty soon when they let emotion outweigh a rational response and it'll be the end of this. I hope it works out though it's something that should be discussed

Well those few can find somewhere else to become unglued as far as I'm concerned.

I fear the left already realizes midterms and 2024 is out of reach for them, which it is, and they’ll further bury us in the ground while they still have time. I do believe much of this was part of the plan. Can you imagine living paycheck to paycheck right now? Man I feel for these people. I have a little bit of a nest egg and even I am pinching pennies where I can and staying home most weekends. This just isn’t sustainable. We’ve been working a job installing fiber for the last year or so and the scheduling person called us this morning and told us it would be fine if we took a month or two off due to rising gas prices and other expenses. So that’s what we’re doing to do. It’s bad, folks.

Petroleum industry is much much more than just gasoline for the auto......... petroleum runs the world and is in most products or supplies everyone of us use on a daily basis.

Looks like lick isn't going to make it too much longer since he's calling out other members. Yeah I'm just going to openly discuss moderating the thread in the thread
Nah I will . Don’t doubt me . I will exceed expectations .

Anyone that thinks there is a good or bad side is a fool, they are all crooks on the same team. Biden sucks, Trump sucks, Nancy sucks, Mitch sucks, F them all. At least they are old and will be dead soon.
Unfortunately they are likely hand picking the idiots to replace them.

Yeah I'm blessed with a decent job and have some money saved up (not as much as I'd like but that's a topic for another day lol) but even we are talking about cutting back in some areas. $60 fill up for gas every few days adds up quick.

What really sucks is we haven't had a vacation in 2 years and already have a planned trip to Niagara Falls this June but have discussed cancelling if those $7-$9 gas prices materialize. Yeah yeah I know, 1st world problems, I get it, but when you work a career for 28 years you'd like to be able to enjoy it every once in a while lol

It's a fair point about vacations and I think many many people will cut that first. You know airlines are next to raise prices and fees, they almost have to, so book flights now if it's an option everybody for your summer plans.

Restauraunts will take a hit, vacation destinations will take a hit... it all trickles down till you get a full blow recession. Somebody needs to alert De Santis because Florida's economy very susceptible right now to this given how large the hospitality/service industry is there.

Gas prices will have a disporportionate impact as well. In the southern US we pay the cheapest gas prices as a whole relative to the northeast. Upper midwest may be cheaper though. However, we drive more than any other region in the country. 50 mile plus commutes on the daily are not uncommon, and people love their trucks and SUVs. Its going to hurt more here than other places.

However, to help ease the pain I will be submitting a request to Charlie for a pay raise with all the additional threads we're having to moderate these days. Especially the Ukraine thread I've worked double time on since he completely bailed on it for poots
