Approaching 5000j/kg SBCAPE around here.

Good luck everyone, hopefully the severe winds avoid us.

And even if you think you want it, you don't. These winds are going to be ridiculous for the areas that receive them.

KSAV had a high of 96, which ties yesterday for the hottest of the season to date. We’ve had no rain but strong to severe thunderstorms are expected after midnight as the big complex to our NE moves SW with still plenty of instability.

Yeah, this is 1 time I would not really mind missing the storms. These storms are capable of producing 80+ gusts. So far, I'm surprised we haven't had those high winds somewhere.

Looks like the storms in SC will end up just missing me (CAE agrees with them partially warning Aiken County...although it may be a bit too soon to tell involving the entirety of this county), and honestly, it's a bummer with how hot it is.

Edit: Did I reverse jinx it hah?

Edit2 at about 10:30: Doesn’t look like it. Split to the west and east of me.

Southwest Georgia is absolutely getting pounded tonight, I've read reports of 60-70 mph gusts in the Albany/Colquitt areas.

125k without power in Georgia. That’s going to be dangerous tomorrow if folks don’t have AC in this heat. Hope it all comes back on quick

Hotspots are the south ATL metro and then south of Augusta

Checked radar around 10:45 seen nothing remotely close to me, 10 minutes later a storm just blew up right on top of me in Walton.

Yeah, last night was such a nasty environment that even though most of the storm missed me, I did end up having some convection redevelop and move on top of me for at least a short bout of heavy rain.

There was a lot of lightning and some wind and I even had the power flicker here. And for now at least, it feels better today, though I haven’t been outside yet.
