Wintry January 29th-30th ARCC Slam Dunk Winter Weather Threat

Someone along or south of I-20 is gonna get smoked with some rates. Who knows where that may be, but the increase in QPF in those areas really has me excited. I think we could see a 3 inch total somewhere. I sure would love to be up on Mount Cheaha for this.

* WHEN...From late Monday night through Tuesday evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult. The
hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening
commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant
snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue
to monitor the latest forecasts.

I'm still concerned that this area may see more sleet than snow. I could see 850s lagging while colder air gets underneath.

Hmmmm. It says up to 2 inches... I thought they only issued watches if it was 2 inches or more ? Seems like an Advisory would be a better way to go.
