15° to 17° cooler - light rain as it clears out - as SD said winners and losers - those east have to fight the heat of the day and your losing that battle.

Taking off from RDU in the next few minutes. I was hoping I could see this complex move over; the pilots are likely to do everything they can to avoid these storms however, so I probably won’t be getting in on any of this action.

Getting pea sized hail in Hillsborough
I just drove from Raleigh to S Alamance and it’s been HVY Rain from west chapel hill onward. I retract the cute E of 95 comment earlier. Heaviest I’ve driven thru in recent memory.

Rain shield held serve, .14 total today. Did finally get me to 22" ytd
.27 here, wouldn't be surprised if either of us caught a random blob towards morning. Tomorrow has some serious challenges but shouldn't be an empty radar

Good news is where are on the backside of August and the DP's will start coming down in back and forth fashion next few weeks, before disappearing into the 50's an lower by mid Sept. The ole summer grass of bermuda and crabgrass which is at its peak this a.m. will slowly start to slow down and eventually fade off through sept.
Time to set the cabbage and turnip seed out today

My summer grass had already slowed down, haven't cut it in 2 weeks
Radar looked decent for a time yesterday and yes a few lucky spots got in on the good stuff, but this image says it all. Remember when it's convection we're dealing with, don't buy into the global models broad brush qpf, it never verifies. We need a tropical system
I went through parts of bladen and robeson County yesterday, I can't complain about lack of rain, totally brown in places with trees dropping at least half of their leaves

Yesterday I had. 10 a measly tenth of an inch while 4 miles away the airport got crushed. Then this morning I was parting water better than Moses did the red sea. Still probably got a few tenths this morning but man it's uncanny how the storms split here.
