I also take the Ozempic pill for t2 and when it was called in to replace Rybelsus, because it is no longer being manufactured which I wasn't aware because my Rx accout with Walgreens just said it was out of stock. I finally got it straightened out and switched to Ozempic, Walgreens took 3 days to get it filled due to it being "out of stock". When I went to pick it up when it was ready, they were looking in the refrigerator for it since the shots are stored there, instead of reading the full Rx and seeing it was in pill form. It makes me wonder if they are holding back stock and properly educating their employees to read the full Rx! I left shaking my head and wondering if every 90 days is gonna be like this!
 
Came home yesterday to water running down an interior wall from the air handler in the attic. Fun stuff. Primary drain clogged in the trap despite cleaning it out this spring. Water was leaking from the gasket on the pan drain line.

Gotta get back up there today and suck it all out with the shop vac and check the rest of the drain lines. Heat stroke city in this weather.
 
Bad news everyone. I recently got grounded by my parents. Won't be back on till they say I'm ungrounded. Let's just say it aint pretty. My laptop was taken away, my WR-120, and my television access.
 
Survived the attic. That was miserable. Could only stand about 15 minutes at a time.

It's a good reminder to service your air handlers. Our system is 5 years old now and needed some tlc. Made a totally new trap because the installer apparently never followed the Rheem instructions on depth. Cleaned the internal tray and little bit of dust on the coil along with fixing some sealing. Now we're chilling at 72 with a RH of 49%.

Just pouring water and vinegar down the drain once or twice a year isn't always enough.

You start pouring sweat in 45 seconds after being up there this time of year. Sorry man, I know that was miserable.

Hey Chris,
Sorry about what you’ve had to go through. I’ve had big issues with AC condensate drainage for years. My drain line runs from the air handler to underneath my floor and then to the outside, where it goes into a hole on the side of a 5 gallon bucket with a top that has holes on the bottom and pebbles (French drain). Recently, the French drain hasn’t been draining as I keep finding standing water that fills up the bucket to above where the drain line goes into it, thus blocking the flow into the bucket! I’ve been having to take a cup to bail out the water every 1-2 days. I don’t know why it’s backing up as opposed to draining through the rocks/bottom. We’ve been in a long term drought. So, I doubt that it’s because of a high water table.

I suppose I or someone else needs to take the rocks out to see what’s going on below them? Or the rocks, themselves, need to be rinsed? Would that be a possible solution? I have no idea.

Also, what’s your feeling about my buying dehumidifiers with humidistat/built in pumps for the house to both make it more comfy and to also reduce how much H2O the HVAC needs to remove? I’d put one near both ends of the house and drain them into bathtub/utility sink. Are they very effective? I think they run ~$400 each. With dewpoints of 72-75, how low can dehumidifiers in combo with AC get the RH? 50%? 40%?

Everything is always 2 days away; heat, cooler temps rain, etc.. in this setup/scenario it never materializes, ever.

Its virtually impossible to buy into that line of thinking - weather forecasting is wrong at times, surprisingly more often that not.

Could be saturated soil under the bucket.

We have a roll around dehumidifier we occasionally use in winter/spring when it's not warm enough to dehumidify through the a/c. It's uncomfortable to me when RH gets above 60% in the house. I'm fine with 50-55.

It is frustrating though. On Friday we had 40 and 60% chances of rain Saturday and today. Both days were sunny and bone dry. Now by the looks of it we've lost Monday precipitation too. With this being the driest year since 1939 or 1954 locally it wears you down.
 
Ever see a high school flex on Facebook? This is the private school in Chattanooga where Spain trained for the World Cup. I think this is also code for "tuition is going up", lol.

Kind of an interesting observation about NASCAR. Watching the race at North Wilkesboro the LED lightning the track has makes it look like daytime on the broadcast. I'm sure it's nice in person but I do miss the older metal halide type lighting that wasn't as bright and gave more of a "night" feel.

Chris,
I bailed out the water like usual from the 5 gallon bucket, but this time also dug out all of the pebbles to see the bottom. This is what I saw: 4 holes but they look wet

Then this is how it looked just 3 minutes later: holes not draining and water accumulating

Within just another 6 minutes, water covered the entire bottom!

Your idea of saturated soil under the bucket may be the case despite still being in drought. So, the constant draining to under the bucket has over-saturated the soil right below it? If so, then how could this system have worked in the past? Wouldn’t it have been saturated then, too?

Any suggestions?

Definitely possible to have saturated soil under it. In theory you'd want pebbles below the bucket as well for at least a few inches.
 
I genuinely am about at the end of my sanity rope this summer. I work outside most of the time albeit not necessarily manual labor each day. These 97-100F days and 80F mornings with high dewpoints have just about done me in. It's been relentless since the end of June. Add in the lack of rain causing so much dust I see why people worshipped weather gods in the past.

I also just don't get how even the short term modeling and forecasting has gotten so bad. I can think of half a dozen "drought buster" events predicted 48 hours out from the NWS locally that haven't amounted to anything substantial unless you were in the 1 square mile a storm popped up. Area wide in NESC/SENC I can't think of any organized convective activity that's come through all month. It's been spotty pop up stuff that sits and dumps wherever it forms. Now this week we were staring down the barrel of 3" or more only to turn out dry instead with smaller chances late in the week with more heat after.

Sounds like you live in Monroe - same here - conditions here after June 25th - almost exactly how you described it - the dewys not as bad as your location

Im close to Monroe, Sunday afternoon/night there were two warned cells in Union. One missed us just to the south between Marshville and the SC line and the other to the north close to New Salem. Average summer pop ups seem to like to generate in the same areas it seems. Just not here.
