Misc General Banter Thread

Data takes time to aggregate, hopefully we see better looking maps by next weekend.

We were lucky enough to get .7-1 inch around my area this morning and hopefully another inch or so this weekend. It's not much in the overall drought, but I'll take anything at this point.

Either way, we probably need close to 10 excess inches to fully recover on the year if I were guessing, for most areas.

This is quite concerning to me at least. The powers that be should consider technology like this a violation of Fourth Amendment rights and its use should be strictly limited. This makes me even more hesitant to buy a new vehicle in the future. I'm liable to end up behind bars with some of the comments I make about other drivers when I'm on the road in today's society even though that's a violation of the First Amendment.

I can’t help but notice the huge contrast between the Midwest and South. The South really does suck, not just in the winter but in spring too !IMG_4527.jpeg

Those are some nice Bluegills! The one on the bottom was caught with a Worden's Rooster Tail which is one of my favorite lures of all time.
I use white rooster tails all the time! I have like 15 of all sizes in white! Agreed, best lure ever made and consistently produces!!

Has anyone on here ever been to Santiago, Chile or skied at Valle Nevado?

Love Matt Dillon, and that movie in general.

I only made it to Iowa!🥴
As you know, I’ve been there a few times recently. There are worse places for sure. They make some good beer up there too, Toppling Goliath for one.

I’ve never been to Iowa. 😢

I’ll be making an appearance in Wisconsin for the first time later this month for a wedding, though.

The Great Lakes are reality blurring for me. How something can look like a ocean yet have largemouth bass inside doesn't make sense.

I went to Santiago in January 2013. Enjoyed it! Also went to Vina Del Mar on the coast there. Haven’t skied down there, though!
Awesome! I’ve heard nothing but good things from people who have gone. It’s only a 9 hour flight from Atlanta. My main point of research is to stay in town and use buses to get up to the resort, or pay substantially more for the mountain hotels with ski in/out, but less to do otherwise.

The funny thing on the beer front, they just got Yeungling(sp) at a few places here in Iowa and it must be a big deal, they had a countdown to the day it was first available in Iowa and that was about a month ago! They are expanding into micro brewing and crafted lagers and stuff, but I’d bet 93% of the beer consumed here is Busch light! 🤢🤢🤢

As sad as that is, you’re probably right!

This sucks. We're in May and have had just under 5" of rain total since January 1st. The normal/slightly above normal JJA we had for precipitation last year was such an anomaly since 2020. Maybe with El Niño we can actually sustain convection and rainfall coming from the west again like we used to instead of waiting around for a coastal low or TC.
