Misc This Means WAR

It's coming so be prepared. I am by no means a doomsday person but all one has to do is look around at the world right now. You hear a lot of talk about a "reset" or a "new world order" and people can and will scoff at such a thing but it's here. I have 80 acres of land so I'm not worried but not everybody has that luxury
Where those aliens you were talking about?

Hopefully everyone in politics was paying attention last night, hopefully they saw that we the people are sick and tired of the manipulation, the division, the name calling, the attempts to force one party on the people etc....this goes for all of them red and blue. It actually gives me hope that it isnt all lost and that we can and still make a difference.

We are 40 trillion dollars in debt. That will be 45 trillion before too long before it goes to 50 trillion and then on up to 60 trillion. People can argue about politics until the cows come home but it's the world that is facing problems. Inflation rates have stabilized in some places but the damage has been done and those prices aren't going back to what they were. On top of that how is AI going to affect the economies worldwide? I have to wonder just how long people actually believe that current governments here and abroad are going to last? I told people here back in 2025 that 2026 was going to be crazy worldwide and I was right. 2027 is going to be worse
In the grand scheme of things, I think AI is going to result in so many changes in the next 5-10 years that all this political squabbling will ultimately be meaningless. We soon will not be the smartest intelligence on the planet and will likely be disempowered. But I suppose that is very much another discussion.

Honestly, I think we reject it all by then. Now whether its because of a major distaster caused by it or not, I don't know.

Correct. It will be a different world by 2028 despite petty political differences. Those that fail to see this will be left behind. New technology is being kept from us that could change humanity and that is where my focus is. I want disclosure of those lies because I wasted the best years of my life fighting BS wars for those that withhold what belongs to humanity. Luna, Burchett and Burlison are still there and they are leading the disclosure charge and that is pretty much the only positive I see from government.

Brother they (DARPA) already have a sentient AI and have had it for a long time. If Congress will get off their arse and give protection to people who have signed NDE's this will all come out. People have to become aware of what is going on for this to happen

I don't think it can be rejected. Someone will create it eventually, whether it's us or someone else and once the cat is out of the bag, it isn't going to matter. We may slow it down, but it's a matter of when, not if, IMO. A slower takeoff is certainly preferable for mitigating the potential of the worst-case scenarios (extinction, etc.), though.

Not to be the person that tries to overlook all of the election talk, but we could be sleepwalking into a serious crisis with some of the news being overshadowed right now. A state actor is hacking grocery store chain fridges and blood banks across Europe. Food and blood supply are some things you do not want crippled before more direct warfare begins.
Lot more than this going on. Has been for a few weeks and picking up steam. Cyber stuff . Should get your attn when multiple nations are warning citizenery to have food water etc for days/ weeks. Not a one or two off. Be prepared. For what you ask?
Watch their actions. Getting all military basis 100% independent / stand alone up to 90 days without relying on outside power water wifi etc.( should have been done a long time ago).
Im Not talking about the EMP or CME scenarios as the only one we need to fear anymore. Its the cyber attacks from not only nefarious states ( foreing govt's) but some ole little wizard in his momas basement/ bored. Saw where one hacker had used chatgpt and make limited ai work for him and get inside water treatment plant/ shut down computer. Course staff went an manually used old school methods / recovered quickly.

Think of all the hardware pieces in our grids networks from china etc. Highly likely with worms sitting idle waiting on a click to shut stuff down.

I want to thank the mods for letting the War thread morph into the election thread for the last 36 hrs... since the war was a big issue that affected how people voted, I guess they are somewhat connected. And thanks to all who participated with very civil discourse, especially for those who were disappointed in the returns. Hopefully in the next few months this thread will have reason to fade away into the back pages

Very civil discourse in this thread over the past few days, which is wonderful. I think this election shows us a few things. The Iran war/conflict was a huge miscalculation by Trump, the demographics in the South are changing, Democrats were fired up, and the GOP base overall did not turn out for various reasons. I know several people in South Carolina that consider themselves Conservative, but voted for Andrews instead of Graham.

I remember being in a Political Science class in graduate school after Obama was elected and mentioning that both parties would need to work together to get us out of the mess. The professor kind of chuckled and asked rhetorically, "Do you think they will? Or do you think they will go even more partisan?" He was correct.

Comparing election data in MS, SC, IA and Kansas, its pretty clear that this was much more of a Blue win + Red Sit, than the blue tsunami the media is tauting. The democrats just did a great job getting nearly all of their presidential election year base out for the mid-term and the GOP just went blah.

This will make for some top tier WWE style drama over the next few years. On one hand, it definitely gives the democrats a incredible opportunity to extend the olive branch and make real inroads in red states if they govern as moderates and serve the members of these states.

However, in the other hand they are holding a stick of dynamite. All these states re-elect these seats in the presidential election of 2032. Which makes this a repeat of what happened in the 2017 Alabama special election. That means that the entire GOP base will likely turn out and these 4-5 seats will probably switch back pretty easily. So these senators have six years to impress or absolutely blow a hole in democrat inroads.

The interesting part is how the democrats choose to play this; do you try to go scorched earth, grab the 2028 presidential election, swarm the nation with hard leftist agenda before the coming backlash? Or do you move more moderate to try to make inroads in these states, but risk ticking off the base that wants scorched earth liberal policy(and absolutely wants the skin of any moderate democrat such as Fetterman) and 2028 is characterized by a huge blue sit with Trump off the ticket.

Best thing for democrats to do is pump out bills aimed at helping the lower and middle class. Make the Rs vote no and the president veto the bills.

Take musks 10B away and out it towards helping young American families with things like daycare relief and so on. Make the gop work against working families

Like they sent to Minnesota? Billions were sent there and it did not pay for childcare, but went to Somalia. Unless the fraud is stopped no amount will change anything but will increase taxes. They need to stop all donations from healthcare. Every million a politician took in healthcare in donations came out of the subsidies. They capped doctors fees, they should cap insurance profits .Insurance profits soared with ACA all due to subsudies.

So what does Tallarico say in his first interview? Let's nuke the fillibuster. Now from a personal standpoint I can see the merits of keeping it or ending it, blah blah, but from the laughing, funny side of it; its crazy how fast the opposite side always hands the other something to fundraise off of.

Everytime a democrat sings, the GOP fundraising register rings. The yin and yang, they're the same, quite a brilliant money making thang.

Great representation of the Principle of Polarity! Just like hot and cold, people fail to realize they are just degrees of the same thing (temperature). There are infinite degrees of temp between the two extremes but when people flip they often just go from one extreme to the other which is what often happens to voters as well. They don't feel like they get what they want so they automatically just flip to the opposite

Getting the GOP to vote against something is SO MUCH BETTER than actually doing the thing you suggest. That way you can bury your political enemies while not actually having to help the poor working families as suggested. You just described why we no longer make progress in this system. It isn't actually about making progress just beating your enemy......

The thing with a gerrymander is that depending on how you do it, it can result in a dummymander if the political environment turns too much against you.

Let’s say you are in a state with two seats and won is R+20 and the other is dead even. You gerrymander it so both districts are R+10. Then you have an election where the “national environment” is D+12 and both seats go to the Dems, whereas in the original map only one seat would go Democratic (the R+20 seat would still be R+8). That’s obviously an oversimplified example.
Good example this in Indiana. If the Republicans there would’ve crumbled over the insane pressure of the Trump Administration to make the partisan gerrymander the Administration wanted, Indiana would’ve been 8-1D (almost 9-0). A true dummymander. Fortunately for the GOP, this is one of the rare cases where the party had a spine and resisted Trump’s demands and instead they hold a 6-3R advantage.

Roy Cooper won NC by 20 points....20 pts.

I fully expected him to win and though 5-7 pts was possible
The same thing happened in the last governor's race in North Carolina. A lot of people thought Mark Robinson had a fighting chance when his campaign first began and the numbers just got worse and worse for him and he ended up getting steamrolled. Michael Whatley was a poor choice for a Senate candidate and the seal of approval from Donald Trump ended up being the kiss of death for him. NC had a good senator in place in Thom Tillis but his frustration with Trump and the direction of the Republican Party under his leadership was the last straw in Washington for him. I would have voted for Tillis over Cooper but Whatley is another story.

Good statement, it will come to pass due to the profit to be made! People can push and reject all they want but it won’t out due the revenue for the 1%

This is how bad Whatley was as a candidate....the maga crowd pushed a lot of really terrible candidates, they primaried a lot of incumbents out and put the maga folks in and then got clown stomped. They literally shot themselves in the foot and will try to blame it on everything other than the fact that people are completely done with Trump and maga....

This is why the dems won, these guys are doing exactly what they needed to to win while pointing out the fact the other guys are actively doing things that hurt middle America all while pretending to be the only party that cares about the middle class.

And it will be someone else making this exact same post the next time we have a midterms. Let me know when they actually do something that helps middle America other than threatening to impeach their enemies. They had 4 years to do this and did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but drive prices up

To be fair the dems are pretty much downplaying any impeachment proceedings at this time, though I do fully expect them to investigate the rampant fraud and corruption going on. The dems will push a lot of bills through aimed at helping the middle class and going after the billionaires and Trump will veto them all.

Some of you older members probably remember 1994 when a red landslide during Bill Clinton's first term gained the Republicans control of Congress for the first time in many years. The 2026 midterms were that in reverse. The Republicans later squandered their mandate with impeachment hearings against Clinton that wasted millions in taxpayer money and went nowhere instead of concentrating on the promises they made in the Contract With America. Clinton won reelection easily in 1996 by admitting some of his mistakes and working with Congress in a more bipartisan manner. The Democrats may repeat the impeachment mistake but I don't see Trump learning from his myriad of mistakes. The Republicans are in a pickle in 2028 unless they disassociate themselves from Trump and find a candidate for President that has little or no connection with Trump.

Honestly I don't think Trump came into this with any other intent but to expose the system not to fix it and that is the very reason I voted for him (He is a disrupter). One man can't fix something that thousands of others that have come before him have failed at (By thousands I mean Presidents and congress members) because a system this large and corrupt is doomed to fail and it is going to fail. So is socialism and communism as Europe is discovering. In order for something new to come along and replace it the common person has to become aware that there is a real problem and you are seeing that happen RIGHT NOW. If the people who hate his guts wake up it's mission accomplished but only if they realize it's a scam and we are being used as pawns

Just a thought. You’re not going to win over millennials by starting new wars. Either side. We were old enough during 9/11 and the war in the Middle East to be shaped by those events and the bulk of us will never co-sign another war on foreign soil because history has proven time and time again that none of it is about keeping us “safe” here at home. We were lied to then, and they’re continuing to lie to us now. If that means we have to vote for people who don’t look like us to have a shot at no longer being the bully of the world then that’s what we’ll do. It’s 2026. This is not ancient ----ing Rome. Like it or not, technology leads the way now.

The rest of the world is growing and advancing while we sit here fighting for oil. Why keep ourselves in a region and not advance too? If we actually kept pace QOL and our tech would likely have dominated but instead we just get another toll lane and keep paying the oil giants. I think we see a continuing shift. Even the middle east (Saudi Arabia and UAE) know oil isn't forever and are trying to diversify before the inevitable decline.

Yeah, no, maybe. The thing is all these seats are coming back GOP in two years with voter turnout so I don't think it would have made that big a deal if not actually increased GOP turnout next election had the state went entirely blue.

I know this all too well having lost most of my adult life to (2) of them. Iran is NOT the type of war people think it is and I have said this multiple times. We didn't go into Iraq looking for WMD's we were there looking for very old things that have been here for thousands of years. When guys from Delta and DEVGRU get whistleblower protections they will start talking about what they dug up in Iraq and we are over in Iran for the exact same reason! The evil people who control the world that runs on that black goo we call oil also have control over what we dug up in that sand and what is buried in those mountains in Iraq is what they covet next (It is NOT a nuclear weapon). The technology they have could replace oil forever and they aren't going to let go of it until the oil industry is under the control of someone other than the people controlling it now. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN as long as these evil POS are not dealt with. If this was a war there would be boots on the ground and YES you are being lied to. You are being lied to about pretty much everything your life revolves around

Yes, there is a window for Republicans to have a shot in 2028 if Trump and the Democratic Congress were to work together, but it’s hard to see that happening like it did with Clinton and Gingrich post-‘94.
