Misc This Means WAR

Unfortunately, Dems will probably take this beatdown to believe it's an endorsement of DSA-type policies (as opposed to a repudiation of the Trump Administration), and then when the Dems sweep the government in 2028, they'll go all-in with that, then they'll be a backlash to that and the Dems will get thrashed in the 2030 midterms, and then we repeat the cycle over and over...

But hopefully not. That seems to be the cycle of the last couple decades, though, with increasing radicalization.
The Democrats will do what the Republicans would NOT do starting with the filibuster. Once that is gone, they will do whatever it takes to keep power. The Republicans are basically done after tonight.

After a big scare by the Dem Jolly for FL governor, it looks like GOP Donalds will hang on thanks to the Panhandle.

Yeah, the Nixon performance in Florida probably makes AOC the frontrunner by a large margin in 2028 now and honestly, with no major change, it's likely President AOC next with it being the left wing populists' turn now.

And then the Social Security nuclear bomb is going to hit and make her a one term president.

What about Ossoff? Predict-It has him, Newsome, and AOC close together regarding chances of winning the ‘28 Dem nomination for POTUS.

Bottoms declared GA governor winner, first ever black female gov of any state! I thought she was a poor candidate due to being a pretty bad mayor of ATL and thus I didn’t vote for her, but her winning shows how terrible the GOP is doing.

He'd probably be one of the south's preferences, but we're likely in a moment where the cosmopolitan areas can cancel it out for the time being at least.

I agree with Snowacane, AOC is not a viable presidential candidate for 2028. The moderates won't go for her, just like they didn't go for Bernie in 2020.
The dems need to run a moderate in 2028 and its a sure thing...the GOP wont learn a thinbg from tonight and will offer up some Trump 2.0 maga type.

And they need to be moderate in what they do. I'm so sick of extremeism and the press doing everything they can to divide us so they can make more $$

I doubt it. People are fatalistic like this after every single election. Every election is the most important of our lifetimes, etc.

And the South has an outsized influence on the nomination process as things stand now.

Me either honestly...this is the heavily GOP gerrymandered map too....people just sick of Trump and maga
The thing with a gerrymander is that depending on how you do it, it can result in a dummymander if the political environment turns too much against you.

Let’s say you are in a state with two seats and won is R+20 and the other is dead even. You gerrymander it so both districts are R+10. Then you have an election where the “national environment” is D+12 and both seats go to the Dems, whereas in the original map only one seat would go Democratic (the R+20 seat would still be R+8). That’s obviously an oversimplified example.

I’m a registered Republican and contrarian. I voted for Annie Andrews and Jermaine Johnson today mainly because it’s time for the boomers to step aside. This is no longer their country to run. We need youth in politics. I think that’s where the change needs to happen over the next 4-8 years.

Holy cow, Predict-It now has the highest possibility that the Dems will end up with 250+ seats in the House! Before the highest chance was 234-237 seats for the Dems!

Looks like the “conservative/right” side of each of the three ballot measures in NC are all going to pass easily, even as Republicans are getting clobbered statewide.
