Jesus Christ
Think we see $4.50 by months end if these stories are trueCrude futures are now up to 104.4
Just passed 105.Crude futures are now up to 104.4
Just passed 105.
Definitely widespread, a plane blew in half, probably the one told about from several months ago and a shreaded tent, trailer and truck.
Y'all! Must see destruction!
What it shows is that we have not even come close to winning a war with Iran....a war we have been told over and over again Iran is incapable of fighting since they lost and we totally destroyed their military like 5 or 6 times nows. Gas will be pushing $5 and diesel is headed for $8 and its literally all for nothing.
The war isn't over. Houthis now control land they didn't before. The strait is still heavily restricted, oil infrastructure and US bases continue to be targeted. How is that consider being "over"?Umm most of these pictures are likely old hence the can't determine age caveat under the pictures and secondly, the war is over and its all about them being a nuisance.
When your only source of reprieve is hoping you irritate consumers so much they change policians, that is the definition of losing.
Oh yeah, this is far from over. In fact, things are going to get far worse very soon. For anyone who remembers the 1970's, this will make those events look like a walk in the park. The war isn't over. How much of our own oil do we refine here? That’s very highly unlikely. Why?
-In the 1970s the U.S. was highly dependent on Middle East imports.
-Thus the 1973 OPEC oil embargo and the 1979 Iranian Revolution were huge problems for us.
-The US avg crude production in the 1970s was only ~9 million barrels/day.
-In stark contrast we’re producing nearly 14 million barrels/day thanks in large part to our great advances in fracking/shale oil.
-Thus we’re now a net exporter.
-Only a small portion of our imports goes through the Strait of Hormuz.
-That’s beside the fact that this war has been a huge mess and thus largely a failure from a big picture/strategic longer term viewpoint despite the earlier big tactical victories.

We also use a lot more oil than we did in the 1970's due to population growth so that cancels out the higher production. I may be wrong here, but I think the US is having to help other countries that DO get most of their oil through the strait. Aisa and Europe are certainly not in good shape. That’s very highly unlikely. Why?

This with no hurricanes to end your drought, it’s gonna be the 70s mixed with the Dust Bowl! Oh the humanity!Oh yeah, this is far from over. In fact, things are going to get far worse very soon. For anyone who remembers the 1970's, this will make those events look like a walk in the park.
Because nothing you listed, you know actually does anything in the grand scheme of things?
I mean sure, the Houthis can disrupt oil and sea traffic for a short while, but at the end of the day everything that you mentioned is nothing more than a nuisance issue until the powers that be actually get fed up with them.
Iran on the other hand, while throwing pebbles at US bases, according to some articles are afraid to even enforce women wearing headscarfs due to possible backlash.
So we attack Iran....and then meet none of the stated objectives....drive gas and diesel to all time highs and then have abandoned our middle east bases because the totally annihilated Iranian military keeps attacking them. The once open strait is now for all intensive purposes closed and we are headed for real shortages of heating oil and other products as we head into winter.
So remind me again what have we the US citizens gained from this war other than paying thousands more for gas and groceries than we other wise would.
What have we as citizens gained for the wars over the last thirty years?
Oh I imagine the stated objectives will be met, Iran will not get a nuke and the government will indeed fall(replaced with a similar version that follows orders) Its the same old same old story the US has done forever.
The bases will be quickly rebuilt because it's just money and things in the middle east will go on like they have done in the past but American businesses will collect much more profit.
And if this is true, the Strait is definitely not closed.
The strait is not open, it is contested and dozens of ships attempting to transit it have been attacked or sunk...no where near enough oil is transiting the strait....even if it was half of what it was pre war it wouldn't be enough.
NEW DELHI, Sept 17 (Reuters) - Commodity vessel transits through the Strait of Hormuz dwindled to just three ships on Wednesday, down from 12 a day earlier and well below the 10-day average of about 17, preliminary ship-tracking data showed on Thursday.
The figures exclude any vessels that might have passed through the waterway with their Automatic Identification System transponders turned off to avoid detection.

Of the three vessels, an empty Supramax dry bulk ship entered the strait via the Iranian route, while an empty petroleum product tanker entered through a dark route, shipping data from Kpler showed at 0445 GMT.

Here we go again.
