Monday is shaping up to be another light event that favors Virginia. The 12z GFS and RGEM have just come in pretty wet. Looking for the Euro and NAM to moisten up as we draw closer. Fingers crossed that the footprint is a little further south with this one.

GFS is probably wrong again. Time of day isn't ideal, plus surface temps are not great. And precip is light. Probably same areas again with maybe less accumulation...unless we get significant last minute changes.

This is just so close to being a decent event, minor changes in the tilt of the energy makes big difference with QPF

Yes, definitely some potential for improvement. I could see it trending better over the next 24 hours. Climo probably wins out, but maybe western NC and the foothills could cash in a bit more.

Not sure what results will be on Canadian, but the southern energy being a little different causes heights to be higher out in front and getting more QPF due to that.

3 days out and the GFS is probably off its rocker. It needs a complete overhaul or just get rid of it. Fantasy storms 3 days out is ridiculous.

i think this storm is interesting. higher ceiling than yesterday. it reminds me of january 17th, 2018; lift coming from vort advection instead of warm air advection, possibility of a wicked coastal spinning off the coast, amorphous surface features. that event ramped up in the last 48 hours. the vort max is weaker with this storm, but still potent enough to create a system. more interested in last minute shifts in this one than i am the last one.

I honestly don't get the emotionality around this. If somebody like -- is constantly poo pooing snow but it happens and he ends up wrong, that's one thing. But if he is right most of the time, that isn't being a Debbie Downer. It's good forecasting.

Not a single person on this board, if they were forecasting professionally, would look at this upcoming event and be excited about anything more than mood flakes outside of the mountains and south of the VA border. The weather doesn't care how bad we want snow or how much we don't like people who don't forecast snow with every event.

It’s no different than hating a nfl analyst or college gameday picker when they pick against your team. We are all over emotional about snow in here lol

Here's the Euro which shows a few token flurries for most of us in central North Carolina. The GFS is on an island but I'll cross my fingers and hope it is on to something. I guess I'll go play the lottery today. The odds are about the same.
I think the lottery odds are better than the odds of the GFS being right over the Euro.

I'm just speaking about them in General not this "One Event" of course anyone knows with with this it's not happening outside of a novelty event. But everyone sure begs for it to Happen and will try to find the least little thing to make a blizzard happen. Then they get Mad when -- or any others says nope not a chance
