Got down to a low 60.4 this morning for the coolest low since early June. It was great stepping out to a cooler, crisp morning!
Looks awfully dry the next week.View attachment 174840
Yes that’s true. This time of year we usually have to hope for a tropical system to provide some rain. Last September for instance was extremely wet due to tropical moisture. September probably more than any other month is a feast or famine month in terms of rainfall. It’s autumn, the driest season of the year in the SE on avg.
At least it won’t be very humid. Great weather for outdoor activities !Not thrilled about this dry and warm stretch coming up. Upper 80’s isn’t terrible but meh

No more summer crew in shambles
That can't be satisfying.Still managed to squeeze out 1.1 inches last night
Tracking tropical systems is exciting but I'll pick a cool beautiful pattern any day. I'm also looking forward to tracking the first widespread frost.
Another record low for them. 54 here for the coolest morning yetBoone close this morning. I'm sure there are some other valley locations with frost this morning.

Lately, the first frost at KRDU has been occurring around Halloween on average. With the below normal temperatures that have been holding court for the past month or so, I'm thinking that it might come earlier this year if this pattern continues. Maybe we'll see the first frost when the State Fair is in town this year. It's been a while since that has happened.Tracking tropical systems is exciting but I'll pick a cool beautiful pattern any day. I'm also looking forward to tracking the first widespread frost.
I’m not sure where all this rain is coming from but it looks wet for much of the southeast later this month. View attachment 174860
Eastern JoCo is DRY. Sounds like I repeat this every year at this time. Kenly/Smithfield have missed out on any rain for quite some time and corn/other crops are looking rough. A match in my yard right now would set off the entire neighborhood.
Corn came into season 6 weeks ago. Can't cut it until the moisture gets low enough which is why it didn't start in earnest until ~2 weeks ago.
Phase 8
I can see it especially along the Mississippi River.Jason Simpson (out of Birmingham) was posting about the possibility of a flash drought across the region over the next week or so with hot/dry weather
Yeah, loving the cool evenings, or cooler anyway, but the lower humidity brings with it no rain, like only a ten minute downpour the other day, and that's been it for a long while. I'm willing to trade rain for cool, for a while, but water is a necessity for life, lol, and cool is just necessary for sanity. It’s autumn, the driest season of the year in the SE on avg.
It rained 0.03" here the other day but that's all the rain we've had in the last 2 weeks.Yeah, loving the cool evenings, or cooler anyway, but the lower humidity brings with it no rain, like only a ten minute downpour the other day, and that's been it for a long while. I know this is too hot, but Jesus this would suck
