Pattern June’s Drought Dialogues

We had about 1 minute of light rain in Athens last night. The prior two nights storms have fired off all around, then lifted and put back down on the other side of our area. It's maddening.
Had just under an inch overall near to Monroe (Between Athens and ATL) Some gusts to about 30 and significant lightening...

We are browning quickly. Need rain
It's the same places getting hit every single day. Not a drop here now for well over a week. Tomorrow and Monday look dry, so Tuesday will be our 1 chance for rain during the next 10 days. If we miss that it'll be well into July or maybe even longer before we get another shot here.

It's easy to see how this summer is going to go. Finally get storms all around here with many places getting 1-2 inches tonight. Not even enough to settle the dust where I am though.

The cells are forming, NOT even Noon!

Looks like something may try to develop on top of me finally:

Heard thunder and took a peek and saw this development. If it fails to transpire in spite of being right on the door...lol.

Probably picked up at least 0.5-0.75” from that storm, and it’s funny as I was just thinking about how all the pop up storms lately have usually been just whiffs.

Still won’t be an impressive total for me on June though, but it’d be a case where if I drove 10 miles in any other direction, my total would be higher.

So does the 0z HRRR. Virtually EVERYONE in the Carolinas stay dry tomorrow and Tuesday if it is right.
What does that have to do with getting a drop in July? Besides, the Rapid Refresh has plenty of showers.rrfs_a-conus-refc-1320800.png

Welp, I can say I had my fun today.

Drove home from work in a dang near flood. Seriously though, part of the highway for me doesn’t seem to drain well and it was pouring at the time. I was hydroplaning at under 30 MPH.

Funny thing is not a drop at the house. Did look as if storms were firing over top again on radar, but it missed by a few miles. Close enough though to drop the temp and 0.71” last night.

Total June rainfall here was at a near normal 6.85”, with 6.8” of that falling June 1-18th. So, the last 12 days have been very dry. The first half of June had a wet 5.35”.
